Winter’s Fears

Winter fears being unremarkable, the idea of a mortal life where she will be forgotten by history. The fear brings about a block in her magic abilities, and force her to relive false memories of a normal life she never had.

Winter fears Peter, the man who made her the woman she us today. The fear brings about images of Peter on the island, sometimes he is angry and seeks revenge for the way she conspired against him last time he was on the island, other times he reminds Winter that she is exactly the monster and villain the institute think she is, encouraging her to act out just as he did when they first met.

Winter fears Death, a fear she has had since the 16th century regardless of her ability to return to the living. The fear brings about memories of her past but changed to end in her demise and a reliving of the witch trials she endured and burning at the stake, the cause of her first death, forcing her to die over and over and over again.

Winter + Gold + Aesthetic

The search for Winter gave me cheery winter scenes and gold Christmas ornaments. Not surprising considering Winter isn’t often a name. I even tried Celine but that gave me product shots since Celine is apparently a jewelry company. So I decided to make my own. I had a hard time deciding between the gold and rose gold aesthetics I found so I decided to use them both. I think this shows off how Winter sees herself, sexy, luxurious and classy.

Winter’s Office at the Institute

Her office is filled with antiques and occult tools. Athames, candles, thousands of tomes, jars of herbs and more cover the shelves. Moroccan carpets cover the floor and elegant chairs are placed for visitors. A painting hangs over her fireplace called Ma dove cazzo sono? by Marco Battaglini, an interpretation of Romans of the Decadence by Thomas Couture. 

One shelf, locked away and heavily warded with magic, are vintage vials of varying shapes and sizes filled with blood and labeled with names. Some are proper names, some are nicknames, some are identifiers with ages or locations. All are precious to her.

WINTER DUBOIS' OFF-CAMPUS HOME

Historic industrial meets fine luxury in this penthouse apartment in the heart of St. Andrew's Port. Brick walls offer a warmth throughout the space while lush colours create a rich vintage style. Featuring a stunning and well stocked bar in the living room, an office bearing vintage apothecary cabinets, bookshelves reaching the all the way to the vaulted ceilings, a private terrace and a secret room connected to the master suite for particularly sinful vices, this home is bound to entertain as much as the trendy streets below.

WHY DID YOUR MUSE CHOOSE THIS HOME?:

After the events of the island take over, Winter couldn't bare the thought of moving back into the campus dormitories. Though she once favoured massive mansions filled with classical French design, Winter decided she wanted to take up less ostentatious space. She wanted a hide away in a thriving part of town where she could hold up if needed or find easy distractions only steps from her door. It is worth noting that while she looked for a smaller place than usual, she still made a point of including two extra bedrooms of warmth and character in her search. Perhaps her mind is musing the idea of filling them more permanently.

Delphine’s Surprise: Who is she?

A two for one surprise, there are two souls affected by this magical mischief. 

The first is Winter, who’s mind has fallen to eighteen, a time before Winter knew how to possess a living body. She finds herself in the horrific death realm that Sang Vide witches find themselves in. Unable to recall anything beyond King Henry the VIII’s court, Winter is scared and desperately trying to find an escape. The last time she needed to learn these skills it took her decades. The second soul who’s been changed is Celine Moreau. Before the ball, she was comatose, having been found by Winter that way with no hope of ever awakening. A simple witch, Celine was entirely unaware of her lineage, and her abilities as a vessel witch. After the ball, something has changed. Celine’s body has regressed to the age of eighteen... before she fell into a coma. Her mind remains the same. Her last memories took place in a dingy drug den, now Celine has awaken on an island she doesn’t know, surrounded by people she’s never met where she is draped in luxury and referred to as a Mistress. Life is looking up for the young Celine.

NOTE: As soon as the event is over, Celine will be back in a coma, never to wake again so this is a fun change but a very temporary one.
