my roommate’s friend left
"Quiet Me" (maybe calming him down after Monobear reveals the video tape motives?)
Violet eyes blinked, and the detective pursed her lips. She hadn’t seen the luckster since he had run out after Maizono, but after seeing the way he spoke to her, she was positive he was simply putting on a brave face for the idol. His own video had affected him almost as much as Maizono’s had her.
Wrapping one arm around her torso, she knocked on his door lightly, remaining silent. Small shuffling could be heard from behind the door, before she heard the click of a lock, and the door open a crack. Brown hair and green hues peeked from behind the door, his eyes widening slightly when he saw who was behind the door. “—Kirigiri-san!”
Kirigiri simply nodded, folding her arms over her chest. “Hello.”
Naegi opened the door further, stepping out and into the hall with a tentative glance. “Ah- what are you doing here?” He asked, offering a small, nervous smile.
"I saw you run off Maizono-san." She said, blinking lightly. "After we watched the DVD Monobear gave us."
The teen nodded, running a hand through his hair nervously. “Y-Yeah. She was pretty upset over it.”
Kirigiri nodded, staying silent for a moment as her gaze flicked over him. “…And you weren’t?”
Naegi seemed taken aback at this, reaching back for the door. “Well- I just- It was-” He stuttered, and the detective let out a breath.
"It was clear on your face, before she screamed. Everyone had shock- but you had something even more so. You were horrified."
He bit his lip, not looking up to meet her eyes. “I… I saw my family. My baby sister-” He didn’t bother to continue- he didn’t need to. Kirigiri nodded slowly, gaze flicking to the ground. “…I don’t know if their alright. I can just feel it gnawing at me- it’s my fault if their not.”
"It’s not your fault."
Green hues flicked up to Kirigiri, surprised. “It’s not you fault.” She repeated. “It’s the headmaster’s fault. It’s not yours.” Her gaze flicked up, only for a moment, before returning to the ground. “We’ll get out of here- and do so without killing.” Naegi opened his mouth to speak, but the detective continued before he could. “I’m not saying there won’t be bloodshed- but I have faith, some of us won’t let this despair consume us. We’ll make it out of here- alive.”
Naegi opened his mouth once more- but then closed it and simply nodded. “Yeah- you’re right Kirigiri-san. Except, I don’t think there will be any bloodshed. But you’re right. We’ll make it out of here.” Kirigiri nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"Hey, Kirigiri-san? What- did you see on your DVD?"
The question caught her off guard. She blinked lightly, pursing her lips before speaking. “I- I saw my father.”
And with that, she spun on her heel and walked off.
