when i was little i loved Marik and i wanted him to beat Yami Yugi heh and when Yami Marik was on screen i was like wtf why is he ugly and has that weird hair noooo i want him with the other hair! ahaha i couldnt understand what was that spirit from the millenium rod i thought he was exactly the same person and that he would just change his appearance lol

When I was little, my parents told me that we had German heritage. And I got very confused. I looked at them and I was like but how did I learn English... if we're German shouldn't we speak German. And in my mind because we were German, we were born speaking German. 

I just find that fascinating. That my little 5 year old mind was thinking about something as complex as language. To me that means we shouldn't try to dumb down things. Kids are able to understand things like that if we just talk to them like they can. Maybe break it down more. But don't just laugh them off.

My parents didn't laugh me off. My dad explained it to me. And that's why I love my parents. They always taught me to be thoughtful and mindful. And they answered me questions.

Like can you imagine if my dad had been like, "That's ridiculous. Of course we don't speak German" I mean that's how most of us would respond, yes? But he didn't. He made it so I understood.
