Thankss!
She wasn't raised to be kind or to have an understanding of others; she was raised to be the best at everything no matter the cost. Rob had to teach her a few things about life because while Margo has impeccable manners, her priorities aren't quite normal. She was worse before, but Rob fears she might never truly grow out of the unhealthy standards her parents forced on her.
While she knows it's wrong now, Margo uses skill and achievements as a way to measure people's value. In extension, she feels that achievement is a condition for love; as if no one would or could love her if she didn't do everything just a little better than someone else.
Perhaps needless to say, Margo is very competitive. She makes a competition out of everything, and she needs to win those competitions. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if she wasn't the sore loser she is. (Rob lets her win a lot of things to avoid her sulking in a corner, lol.)
Margo has lists for everything. Listing and organising things makes her feel at ease; it's something she's naturally good at.
She has her own column in one of the bigger local newspapers. She also interviews people for said paper, but her heart lies with the columns she writes. (Whenever she isn't criticising her own writing, anyway.)

Thank you! <3
As I don’t really have a favourite Sim, I’ll just go for the one who I find very fun to write :) get ready for...
Claude has a great sense of humour for those who want to see it.
He has a mate for everything. This was actually one of the first things I came up with while making Claude one or two years ago; he just has his way with people. He has charisma and is excellent at reading people – an excellent combination if you want to achieve things.
He's an amazing carpenter. Give him some wood and the proper tools, and he'll make you any furniture you like. He grew up with a love of wood, and it spiralled into this career path in his mid-teens, when he left high school to learn about carpentry instead. It's probably needless to say his parents weren't happy with the prospect; carpenters were rather looked down on at the time Claude decided to become one.
Claude has a daughter, but he doesn't mention her a lot at the moment.
As good as he is at reading others, Claude absolutely sucks at reading the signs his body gives him. He often doesn't (want to) know why he feels certain emotions, forgets to eat and drink when he's occupied, and will overburden himself at any chance he gets.
A very quick sneak peek of what’s likely to be the first post for my 80′s save!
I still have lots of work to do before I’ll actually start posting things for this, and I still have to decide how much “stock” I want to have before I’ll start publishing actual storyparts.
(I’ve included some things I’m still considering under the cut, because I don’t want to clog up any feeds.)
There are so many technical details to decide on! I don’t know if I want these posts to be a regular thing one day a week, whether I’ll just post them whenever I finish one, or if I’ll build up such a massive stock that I could post twice a week for a couple of months without having to make new posts in the near future. I think it’s between posting once a week (with a “stock” of 2 or 3 posts) and just posting whenever I finish something. I like to be consistent with my posts (thank you, Tumblr queue,) but I also like to just post something whenever I finished it -- which is usually when I’m most proud and least doubtful of my work!
I also have to think of the formatting. I like using captions sometimes, but I’m really a writer at heart. So most of my posts will probably be with “normally” written pieces; I’m just not sure if I want to include captions just yet, because I like my post stile to be consistent as well!
Then there’s still the problem of side characters! Lea, for example. She’s supposed to be a side character, but eventually got her own side characters for her own story that’s independent of the rest. I could follow her, too, or just let her talk to Margo about changes in her life instead -- with only occasional storyparts that are directly about her. But I feel like I’d be neglecting her in that case! Still, I also love the idea of a side character who has things going on in her life that are completely off-screen. It adds a bit of realism at the same time, I think. But it also cuts out a great chunk of possibly interesting stuff to see!
There’s actually an entire pub that’s filled with about 6 characters, all of which have their own stories and character arcs. It’s nice and all, but I think Claude will only be seen visiting that place once or twice, and some of the regulars (the developed side characters) might not even be there when he is. They could use their own story, lol. I think Margo could become unlikely friends with one of the regulars’ wives, but how likely is that? Not at all, because she’s never going to visit the place. If she ever does, she won’t even stay long enough to chat :/
All in all, I’ll probably have to let go of a few ideas and characters to make this story work as good as possible. And to save myself from the effort of keeping up with too many characters, which is something I discovered I’m not very good at. I’m not sure why I decided to share all this, but I just had to get it out somewhere!
Another work in progress for my ‘80s Amsterdam. This time it’s the corner building of a small alley! (Which is in rather a different neighbourhood than the residential lot I posted about earlier ;) )
Hey there! I need your help to decide on something :)
I've been working on 2 stories for a while now. A legacy that starts in the 1980s, and a story that takes place during WWI. (But won't focus primarily on the war, even though it obviously does play a big part.)
Now, the problem is that I'm not going to get anything done if I keep focusing on two things at the same time. I need to choose just one of them to continue (so I can return to the other at a later point.) As I truly don't have a preference regarding which one I'll work on first, I'm asking you guys for help! I've included some information about the stories below the cut, and you can vote on which one you like most through a poll. (Also linked there.)
Early '80s story: this legacy/story follows a small household that lives in Amsterdam. Rob and Margo live in a semi-small apartment. Recently Rob’s friend, Claude, moved in with them after going through a rather troublesome divorce. While Claude loses himself in Amsterdam’s nightlife, the increasingly irritable Margo hopes he’ll move out as soon as possible (and ignores the increasing sympathy she feels for the man who appears to differ considerably from the image he projects.) Will a certain common ground eventually forge a friendship between the two, or will Margo throw Claude out on the streets in the end? This story doesn’t have a set ending, as it’s kind of a legacy at the same time. (And I just have too much planned for these characters!)
There are lots of side characters who will pop up occasionally as well, and I think I accidentally already planned out most of their subplots as well, oops.
WWI story: a story set during WWI, with history, religion and some terms altered slightly to fit into the world of Sims 4 (because I dislike the idea of being too political on here). It’s a romance-but-not-really that follows the lives of the Lyon family, as well as their maid and cook, who are intertwined in the lives of the middle-class doctor’s family they work for. Catherine, the eldest daughter of Mrs. and Mr. Lyon, who has certain feelings she attempts to ignore with all her might. Though, for how long will she manage to keep up her facade? This story will have a romantic tone to it, however the end will not be what’s usually expected of a romance. This story has a set ending, so it won’t drag on forever.
The plot for the WWI story will likely be a lot more structured (if I can manage a structured plot anyway), while the early 1980s legacy will be more relaxed in terms of plot; things will just happen as they pop up in my head.
The poll!
Thank you if you made it all the way down -- and especially if you took the time to share your opinion. I really appreciate it! Normally I decide these things myself, but I’m honestly a bit lost right now.
