REBECCA WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN EUROVISION
Guess what's happening next week!
Yup, that's right. When Words Collide.
What is WWC? It's an annual conference for writers and readers. Normally it's held in Calgary, but due to all the various pandemic stuff, they're holding it online for the second time.
What does that mean for you? Well, the online conference is FREE to attend!
It runs from August 13th to 15th.
You can check out the conference site at WhenWordsCollide.org, and register on EventBrite. (Links in the reblog because tumblr hate's outside links)
Over the three days, I'm part of/running 8 sessions (4 of them are panels I'm part of; 3 of the others are about using Scrivener)
There are so, so, so many different sessions being offered. Seriously, go check out the schedule/list of sessions. I guarantee you'll find at least one session to interest you.
Fear not, this is not a place to provoke harm, but a place to hello Jon, apologies for the deception
Hi my lovelies!
It's that time of year to be planning what sessions I'll be offering for When Words Collide (in August, free and online again this year), and was wondering if any of you wonderful people have suggestions or requests!
My indie publishing house is currently offering:
The Basics of Scrivener
Map-Making for Authors
Fantastical and Out-of-this-World Cities
Survival Tips for Stuck Authors
Story Structure. Why is it so Important?
How to Manage Your Time (and Not Let it Manage You)
On Being Organized as a Writer
It's All About Character
Magic Makes the World Go Round
Magic Rules and How to Break Them
What else should we cover/discuss?
Any writeblrs want to join us for a panel-type discussion?
The WWC conference starts soon! Ahh! Excited!! 😁
I'm on the panels Facts in Fiction (2pm) and Overcoming Imposter Syndrome (4pm), and running the Scrivener for Beginners session at 5pm today.
And attending various other sessions (of course).
So hopefully I'll see some of you around today, or later this weekend!
When Words Collide 2020
Hello my lovelies! Meant to post about this earlier, but it is what it is.
The annual writer’s conference (located in Calgary, AB) When Words Collide is going digital for the year 2020! All sessions are free and hosted via Zoom! There are tons of amazing topics and panels being discussed throughout the weekend (all times are MDT, or -6 GMT), so come join us!
You can read more about WWC at their site https://www.whenwordscollide.org/ and the program information can be downloaded from https://www.whenwordscollide.org/program.php (that page has various info and a link to the PDF of the schedule)
Plus, almost all sessions are being recorded and will be posted up on WWC’s YouTube channel at the end of the weekend/next week. So if you missed one, or if there are multiple you want to attend running at the same time, you can still check them out later!
And an extra special plug for the sessions my mom is running - It’s All In The Plot (Friday, sorry y’all missed it), Are You Prepared To Write? (Saturday, 3pm), and A Map Is Not A Journey (Sunday, 1pm)
I’m running tech, monitoring the chat, and may pop in from time to time during her sessions, so you might even see me ;)
But in all seriousness, this is an amazing conference and that ALL sessions are offered for FREE online this year is so cool. We (my mom and I) hope that if there’s enough interest in these online sessions that the conference coordinators will try to do blended in-person/online sessions at next year’s conference.
So come drop by, learn some stuff, and socialize (a bit) with other writers :D
