Who knows that this temple, built from ambition and resent, will be one of Bagan's main attraction in the 21st century? Dhammayangyi Temple, the largest temple in Bagan, was built under the reign of King Narathu in the 1100s after he murdered his father and brother for him to be crowned as King of Bagan. The King did not stop being cruel after being crowned. He continued to kill people, including his wife. The temple went unfinished after King Narathu's death.
