Talk to me about Niall talking to zayn like they don't know each other. Part of me is dying and part of me is like YOU'RE TOO GOOD FOR HIM NIALL!!

Oh, my dear. You have happened upon a topic about which I have Thoughts.

Disclaimer: I dislike Zayn, to a likely unfair extent. I also recognize that I do not and cannot understand the circumstances that actually lead him to leave the band and subsequently act in a very public, very (imo) immature way towards his former bandmates, friends, ex-fiance, and entire fanbase. I’m sure he has his reasons, and maybe, maybe those reasons are good.

That being said, Niall is absolutely too good for him and the fact that he publicly greeted Zayn on such a big night was classy as hell and Zayn didn’t deserve that courtesy. It confirms what we’ve always known, which is that Niall is a lover not a fighter, even towards someone who broke something Niall really loved. Cause like…Niall LOVED One Direction. Not just loved music or loved the other boys, cause they all love music and they all love each other. But he loved them as a unit. He was One Direction’s biggest fan and Zayn didn’t just leave On Direction, he left in spectacular fashion and then immediately started a solo career (IN THE MIDDLE OF A TOUR. How many people’s lives did he throw into chaos with that move? It’s been years and I’m STILL so angry about this. SO MUCH WORK goes into those tours and when you take out a MAJOR player basically everything (staging, wardrobe, music, vocals, fucking craft services and hotel reservations, EVERY.DAMN.THING) has to be re-arranged at the last minute. DIDN’T HE THINK ABOUT THAT? goddammit.) And I know they were ALL super upset, obviously. But, jesus. One Direction was different on a molecular level from the phenomenon Niall fell in love with and if it had been me, I would never have been able to forgive Zayn for that (clearly lol.)

But like? Niall? Mr. Horan? My sweet, tiny son? He didn’t publicly flip out. He didn’t start shit on twitter (*cough**cough*Louistomlinson*cough*) or talk shit in interviews or whatever. He just kept his head down and worked on his music and his golf and his glorious bro friendships and his selfie game because he’s a goddamn Hufflepuff and Hufflepuffs take care of their shit. And now he’s out there releasing music that’s charming and bittersweet and totally his and no one on planet earth could blame him for doing exactly what Zayn did and ignoring his former band mates to focus on his own success. But, see. That’s not how decent people go through the world. Adults respect each other, even when they don’t understand one another’s choices. Professionals understand that maintaining positive relationships can only be helpful for everyone involved. And people who love one another know the value of forgiveness. And we’ve always known what a good head Niall has on his shoulders.

So, like, yeah. Niall is absolutely too good for Zayn. Niall is probably too good for all of us. Niall also has many flaws that make him human, but his professionalism, his maturity, and his love for his friends are not in question. I don’t think he was talking to Zayn like they don’t know each other. I think he was talking to Zayn like an old friend he’s trying to forgive. And I, for one, could not be more proud.
