You are so right on about the whitewashing of HP characters. I've think I've ranted about this on LJ but why is Michael Corner always shown to be a white dude when he was described as "the dark one" in the books? Who's to say Pomona Sprout is white? The movies? The movies who gave us Nigel the mystery student? Why can't Audrey Weasley, whose last name we don't know, be Asian? And why can't there be more Jewish characters than Anthony Goldstein and any Muslim characters at all?

OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERED HIM BEING DESCRIBED AS DARK AND THINKING, "HMMM THIS GUY PROB AINT SOME PALE WHITE KID."

I MEAN IDK IF THAT MEANS HE WASN'T WHITE OR NOT BUT I DEFINITELY THOUGHT HE COULD HAVE BEEN BROWN.
