Something about sitting on this rooftop with her was extremely inspiring to me. The light at that time and the unseasonal weather and the laughing as we made stupid jokes, not sure what made it that good but this is the only photo from that day that came even close to right.

It was a four hour waiting for the train from Newcastle, NSW to Brisbane, QLD. I was there alone trying to figure something out. It was so hot at the station, so I took a walk along the beach felt like I was in a different world from the station. Suddenly the chillness of the wind blew at me and the sound of the waves claimed me down.
We encountered this memorial on our way into Valley of Fire State Park--Nevada's oldest state park--which contains extensive petroglyphs throughout lands where ancient Pueblo Anasazi people resided from approximately 300 BC to 1150 AD. There it sat still, constructed in an empty parking space, as we pulled into the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza--a surreal confluence of a rest stop, convenience store, cafe, gift shop, gas station, and fireworks store--off of Interstate north of Las Vegas.
