I still remember this day so vividly. I was flying from Oakland to Toronto for the Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott concert. I got to Oakland airport only to find out my NYS enhanced driver license couldn’t be used for air travel. I had been to Canada multiple times by car so it never dawned on me I couldn’t fly without a passport. After dealing with switching my flight to land in Buffalo, I then took a 4 hour bus ride up to Toronto and made it just in time (I was literally sprinting to the concert which I went to solo and it was the best DAMN time ever hahahah no pun intended) I’ve always been the determined type. Whatever I set my mind to I WILL make happen. This is just a really small and funny example. But this story is so special to me because I made a big life decision on that four hour bus ride up to Toronto. I thought about life and how short it really is. We only have a certain amount of time to see and do everything there is to offer. I quit the best paying job I’ve ever had and got rid of almost everything I owned (all my Nike huaraches yeaaaaa it was freaking hard) I just started traveling by myself with two small bags and one goal in mind: inspire others to let go and live. What I didn’t realize after attending Suicide prevention walks across the U.S. is that I was actually finding myself.. so here I am.. totally okay with the fact that I own one bathing suit and cut all my jeans into shorts. I’m living my best life and I encourage you to get out there and do the same!! 2018 will for sure be blessed with many more laughs and adventures. 💙💙💙 #sundaynightthoughts #thankful #wherezkelso (at Honolulu, Hawaii)

My amazing friend Ed Tan, if only you guys knew how I met Ed. Let’s just say this guy has been here for me through thick and thin. He has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve known. I reflect today on the last two months of my life. I left my job in August, donated all my belongings and downsized to two bags. With no car I’ve been from San Francisco to Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Vancouver, Rochester, Buffalo, Brooklyn, NYC, and Staten Island mainly by bus and train. The people I’ve met along the way are incredible and I remember every single face and friend I’ve made. It hasn’t been a glamorous trip, I can’t spend a lot of money on food or places to stay and I spend hours researching my cheapest travel options. I’ve been sleeping on couches, air mattresses, the occasional bed but I am SO thankful for everyone who’s opened up their home to me. I’ve been able to attend a few Out of the Darkness walks and launch a website selling hats to support AFSP. I have always been the “crazy ideas” type of girl. But the one thing about me is I ALWAYS execute my ideas regardless of what others think. Because honestly what’s the worst that could happen? Something doesn’t work so you try something new? Well this time I’m following through completely with my crazy idea. For the first time in my life I feel like this is what I’m meant to be doing. Helping others, inspiring and traveling the world. I want more people to truly LIVE while they’re alive. Don’t let money or materials hold you to one place forever. Together my followers and I have raised over $1000 that went directly to the American Foundation for Suicide prevention. So thank you, I am humbled and honored to be surrounded by so much support. So what’s next for @wherezkelso ? I have decided to take six months off from my traveling in the U.S. to take on Europe. I will be teaching English and learning Italian in Italy while spreading suicide awareness. I’m so excited to be able to spread my message in other countries that also suffer with depression and high suicide rates. When I return I will finish my journey in the U.S. and Canada with more experience and hopefully another language under my belt. I’ll be in Rochester for the next month with my family so I can save everything I have for my trip. I will keep everyone up to date through IG, Facebook and my blog. #wherezkelso (at Italy)
