If you could change one event in Armand's life, what would it be, and what would you change it to?

God, that's easy. Probably the fire in Venice because that seems to be the defining point where Everything Went Wrong.

I'd change it to: he stays with Marius for a few decades/centuries and works on refining his skills as a vampire and learning more about the world.

With Marius being Marius and wanting control and Armand being Armand and wanting his independence, I presume there would have inevitably been some explosive fight and they would have separated for a while (a la Marius and Pandora).

Armand then goes to Paris and meets Lestat and they live happily ever after, the end.
