there were so many things I wanted to tell you. like to open your window when it was about to pour outside so we could listen to the thunder. or about how my neighbors have three dogs, black, brown and white. I wanted to tell you about how much I loved my manicure. I wanted to tell you about how I just watched the most fantastic movie and how it made me smile the whole way through. I wanted to tell you about how I started writing down everything about every day. to remember. to understand. I wanted to tell you about so many things and when I reached for the phone I always knew that I wouldn't. that I shouldn't for so many reasons. every blue moon you send me a hello. or something from our past. I always reply. I'm not really sure why, but a text never goes unnoticed. sometimes, I miss you. I used to miss you every minute of every day. now I only miss you when I'm lonely, when it's been a long, long day of bullshit. and I guess that proves the whole “time heals all wounds” thing because a few months ago I was ready to go crawling back up your front steps. and I did. once. I looked back so many times afterwards and wondered if things had changed. they had. because now, I only miss you when I'm lonely. there were so many things I wanted to tell you but now, now. now I don't want to tell you first.
