man. thinking about clerics and being a prepped caster and what it means for cami to have no god, no one who ever taught her these spells, and so she is so often casting something for the first time and just Believing and Hoping it’ll work. the wisdom of just looking into yourself and Knowing what magic you have and picking what you need, even if it’s unfamiliar, even if you’ve never used it before. just Trusting in yourself and your magic.
#and!!! and. on top all of that#starting level one and leveling SO fast#just. this absoute wealth of magic that she suddently had access to.#i counted and it’s sixty (60!!) spells which is. insane. that’s So Much power time hold within yourself#and because she doesn’t Study and she doesn’t Know magic it feels weird for her to just know exactly what she can do#so in rp it’s always like... ‘i think i have a spell for this.’ ‘i should be able to do this’ ‘i feel like i have something for this’#which is. funky! bc i think to me she doesn’t Exactly know if the spell will work or if she’s Right until she casts it#bc it simply feels Absurd to recite off the rules of a spell or smth in character when she’s never used it or seen someone use it#which is clerics! it’s faith! you know your magic you Know it works you Know it’ll be there for you#you have to believe it’ll work because what do you have if not belief#but. man. thinking about her first time using various spells#guiding bolt on salic and lesser restoration on cerise and warding bond on sico and sending about sparrows death.#spirit guardians at uberta. warding glyph on the statuette. and that was truly i think the second third level she ever used#which. man.#leveling up that night as they were all waiting for the news. not receiving a sending and then waking up the next morning able to cast it#that must have felt like a sign that sparrow was never coming back.#but those days she was alone on the road she must have just been shifting through her own magic#running through new spell after new spell she could feel in the corners of her mind#and when she realized there was something she could do to try to stop herself from ever being used agaist her friends in death.... well.#and so. the next third level spell she used was glyph of warding on the statuette.#order after that i think is. spirit guardians then create food then speak with dead#which is truly! not very many! beacon of hope is Always prepped and she still hasn’t used it!#oh GOD i also just went to check bc i was curious and. she didn’t use inflict wounds until rhest#man!#this is all just a Lot i miss my girlie 😔#anyways point is everyone should start at level 1 to make it extremely easy to spiral about what order you learned/used spells in#crop#dnd hours#oh AND last thing but. the fact that raw prepping spells takes Time#being unable to sleep and instead just spending all this time agonizing over spells bc if she doesn’t have the right ones it’s Her Fault
