#WhimsyCon Iron Costumer, which I got to help curate and run with @ampersand15, closed out the weekend. The theme was Villainous and the surprise Secret Ingredient: Packing Peanuts! I also had 10 “prizes” that were awarded to teams to be used in their design by audience members answering nerdy quiz questions correctly—unless the teams were able to steal! “Because even though you're a federal officer...to us, you will always be Gracie Lou Freebush: the nicest, sweetest, coolest girl at the pageant...and this year's Miss Congeniality!” 🧵 I’m not a federal agent and I didn’t save the pageant but I felt the shock rocket through me when after Best in Show was announced, there was another award given out. I almost started to cry, I was so overwhelmed! I’m honored to be the first “Miss Congeniality” of #WhimsyCon. I love the community in cosplay that fosters creation and challenging yourself and building friendships with other makers. As I recover from the contireds, I want to say that I had an exhausting but wonderful #WhimsyCon 🎨 While Whimsy has growing pains and oopsies like any con, it’s got that small con magic and I hope to see it grow! Saturday was my busiest day with 3 panels and co-hosting an open chat chill room, wearing a faerie/oceanid with the Spirit Sprites ground, shooting with @weneals_photography and @chiseledlight.cos, and then dashing back with @kiwi_bird_k to do a costume change before my 3rd panel and the costume contest!
