to  be  honest,  she  never  expected  to  see  abby  again.  not  that  she  doesn’t  want  to,  but  between  everything  that  went  down  and  with  her  still  seeing  august,  she  knows  it  probably  wouldn’t  end  well.  besides,  the  last  time  she  heard  abby  was  still  in  new  york,  so  she  isn't  quite  sure  what  to  make  of  the  situation.  when  the  initial  shock  fades,  a  small  smile  tugs  at  her  lips,  and  vada  gathers  the  courage  to  meet  the  other  woman’s  gaze.  "  abby,  hey,  "  she  blurts  out,  unsure  how  to  even  talk  to  her  anymore.  there’s  a  pause  that  stretches  too  long,  the  kind  that  twists  her  stomach  into  knots,  prompting  her  to  speak  again.  "  fuck,  sorry.  i  was  just  —  i  didn’t  realize  you  were  back  in  town.  it’s  been  a  while,  huh?  "
