It’s been an odd kind of a month, Reader. So far it’s seen a lot of good things, with many more to come. I’ve celebrated my first Testosterversary (I’m totally coining this as A Thing), I’ve got an appointment for a surgery consultation, and I’ve seen my first ever work managee wander forth into the big wide world, newly qualified and eager to become part of the soulless corporate machine.
So why has August sucked?
This month has been a whirlwind of weird and scary emotions, at least 90% of which were completely pointless. Can emotions be pointless? Yes, if you’re having them about things that haven’t happened and won’t. It’s been a weird, twisty-turny, up and down kind of time, and I’m not sure it’s going to stop for a while.
So what’s more suitable than some two-tone stripey socks?
I’d like to say these were intentional - the contrasting spiral, the peaks and troughs of the variegation, the constant frustration about how exactly to do the heel - but the truth is I’m just running out of storage space for my sock yarn leftovers and really need to start using them up. Exciting, no?
I must say though... having something colourful on the needles has helped tremendously...
(And yes, I know an Afterthought Heel would’ve fit better, but I like my shortrows damnit!)
