I recently went to the academy of natural sciences and they have live animals there, including a bearded dragon that was on sand? i was really surprised that they allowed this! is there any way you could get the word out so people could contact them somehow and let them know that its not ok? i don't want them to mistreat their animals :^( thank you so much!!

A good way to correct care like this is to speak up yourself, explain the risks, and hope they listen. It starts with you, first and foremost. 

Is this the Academy in Philadelphia? You can contact them by phone or email if you can hunt either of those down, express your disappointment and concern, as well as source various educational articles about the dangers of sand.
