Happy 50th birthday to Nicole Kidman!
Here she is pictured as Rae Ingram in Dead Calm (1989, Phillip Noyce), Suzanne Stone Maretto in To Die For (1995, Gus Van Sant), Isabel Archer in The Portrait of a Lady (1996, Jane Campion), Satine in Moulin Rouge! (2001, Baz Luhrmann), Grace Margaret Mulligan in Dogville (2003, Lars von Trier), Anna in Birth (2004, Jonathan Glazer), Charlotte Bless in The Paperboy (2012, Lee Daniels; with Zac Efron) and Celeste Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies (2017, Jean-Marc Vallée).
I can’t get over how culturally taboo it is to let ppl know that not only does the vaccine make you feel horrible and, yeah, don’t count on a different reaction to the second dose it’s just gonna be painful BUT you must please ma’am wear your mask and you ARE susceptible to variant strains of COVID and SARS and yes there will be more vaccines to get in the near future once more variants are analyzed and yeah it will be like a part of your yearly flu vaccine schedule to get a COVID booster and yeah we will NOT be finished immunizing our target populations in any near future and no you should not assume you will be able to travel much and you will not be able to pretend like this never happened and yeah things aren’t going to change much except for horrifying new surprises that containing a virus entails and like.
Basically we are allotted two vials, or 20 shots with room for extras if possible from the draw up, and the number of patients we will immunize in at least the very very beginning is astronomical and ppl keep getting sick and our script counts are already stretching us thin and basically I’m sick with the COVID combo meal deal and I’m STRESSING bc the importance of me being available to work feels overwhelming but also extraordinary exciting and I’m trying to see all of this for what it’s worth and unless my corporation gives me hazard pay again I’m gonna mcfucking lose it
Those trailers are a bit insane
That’s how it must be in Bucky’s brain
Whispery, soft and lovely.
Whispery post
*i have a real human job that is full time and has benefits and I'm trying to process that but wtf I'm not fucking up all the time and might have a life that lasts as long as a full time job intones like a real full life and today I answered a shitty hr form that asked why I wanted to work for a non-profit and I answered that it felt like it was the only moral thing to do in life and I believed it and graham roumieu might have gotten me this job*
whispery post
hate my job hate my life hate my body hate my every waking moment rebound insomnia is not ok i just want to know what to want to feel not-strangled
(Still kind of staggered that there are people who construe disagreement about the quality of a writer's work as a deeply upsetting form of "hate.")
