Dennis and Kim have been dating for almost a year when his parents invite both of them to come back to Nebraska for a vacation. What starts as a fun trip to meet the parents, ends with the couple finding things out about each other they would never expect.

With the reveal that Dennis wants to move back home when he finishes his residency and that Kim has always wanted to move to a big city, will the couple be able to make it? On the brink of a break up, Dennis goes out of his way to show Kim how good farm life can be. But is it enough to keep them together?

Only One Bed

Hello, everyone! I'm brushing off this old thing (only tumblr blog I remember the password for) to participate in @the-rarepair-pitt-week ! Today is the prompt 'Only One Bed' and the couple I chose was Kim/Whitaker. Click anywhere on the description to be taken to the full fic on AO3. Enjoy!

 Kim didn’t plan this. If you were to ask Jesse, he’d say she’s lying, but she’s not. Did it work out in her favor that there was a mistake made when rooms were being booked? Yes. Did she only sign up for this stupid fucking conference because Dennis would be there? Perhaps. Was she happy when Abbot asked if anyone would be willing to share a room and her and Dennis were the only two to raise their hands? Who’s to know! (Jesse does, he could see the glee in her eye even if she managed to keep the squeak out of her voice.) But that does not mean she planned any of this. Hoped for, wished for, and prayed for maybe, but not planned.
