i absolutely think all religions are fair game for criticism. but. while i generally enjoy this page, it really isn't a white man's place to foist this imperial mindset on brown women who use a hijab. in the comments, he mocks someone for bringing up race and gender, suggesting that such things are not relevant. he fails to recognize *his* gender and *his* race, falling into the all too common white male stance of assuming their position and perception are the norm/default.

What one might think atheism means in the age of YouTube and Social Media: the state of being an angry, overbearing asshole who defends racism, sexism, and other systemic oppression and incites harassment on others who identify as feminist, anti-racist, pro-social justice, etc....oh, and who doesn’t believe in any deities, but..you know, that’s not important...
You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
The Dark Knight trailer (this quote makes me think of atheist/skeptic channels that have jumped on the anti-SJ bandwagon now love the same logical fallacies for which they used to criticize creationists and religious fundamentalists, and also vegans who use misanthropy to justify/excuse racist/misogynistic/ableist/classist things they say)
Even further thoughts on the YouTube atheist community...
...I’m sure I could be an active part of it if I played the role of the “chill girl” who just talked about atheism and never brought up issues of feminism, social justice, etc. and kissed the asses of problematic atheist YT demigods like Thunderf00t and Sargon. Just like I’m sure my YT channel would have more subs if I kissed the asses of Freelee, Yourofsky, etc. and never brought up any of the issues that exist in the mainstream vegan movement. Doesn’t mean I’ll do it; integrity is more valuable to me that that.
