Tumblr Soul Searching

So, with the new year here, I’ve done some soul searching on what I want to focus on both gaming and blogging. This led me to thinking about this Tumblr. 

I enjoyed the Path of Fire expansion and the mounts. I had a good time in GW2 last year. And while I still don’t always agree with the choices Anet makes about the direction of the game, I’ll probably pop in from time to time when I get the itch to work on story and things I still haven’t finished. There’s a lot for me yet to do! 

However, I’m also keenly aware that my main game will remain FFXIV. I’m the organizer/leader of a fairly active Free Company there, and that demands most of the time I have to give to MMOs. 

I’ve decided maintaining a GW2-only Tumblr just isn’t a thing for me anymore. I came back to it, tried it again, and don’t see it happening. I’ll leave it here for memory’s sake, though.

I have a main Tumblr, where I am still very active on a variety of topics, including GW2. So that’s where you’ll find me. Feel free to say hello there!

Hi there!

Nipp Mousetrap here! How’s it going?

It’s been a while (over 3 years to be exact) since I dusted off this Tumblog. It’s been just that long since I’ve played GW2 in earnest.

A lot’s gone on since then... You can say that despite my love for GW2 at launch, we grew apart as the game went off in directions I didn’t always like. I won’t belabor that point, but I did know I needed to take a break when I felt more negativity than anything else towards the game. It’s never been my intention to be a negative blogger.

I decided to give GW2 another chance with PoF, and I’ve felt enough of that old GW2 spark (mixed with a nice helping of GW1 nostalgia) that’s encouraged me to return and possibly stay. Though I’m invested in a number of other games, and have always been a casual player, GW2 still offers some of the best open world fun, IMHO.

I went back and forth on whether to relaunch this Tumblr. Right now, I’m feeling pretty positive towards GW2, so I’ve decided to give it a shot. I’m not sure how many of the folks I used to follow or how many followers are still around after all this time. But hopefully I can reconnect with some of you!

I’ve got a lot to catch up with, and I’m considering what I’m going to do with my specs. So pardon me as I stumble around a bit!

I’m getting a few curious questions about who Nipp is as a character, so I dug this old Pact profile up for a repost. I know that the orders and the Pact don’t play so much a part in the newer GW2 storyline, but 4 years ago (has it been that long??), I created a template that other folks used to make their own Pact Files. 

This is a pretty good overview of what little bit of character development I did for Nipp. So putting this out there again!

Tell us about yer charr. CHARRRRRRRRR!

Chaaaaaaarrrrrrrr! 

Nipp is a little odd for a Charr in that she’s more a nerdy engineering geek than much of a battle-hardy warkitty. 

She also sometimes keeps odd company (Asura buddies) for the typical charr (though this may becoming less and less unusual, huh?), and is not afraid of taking in and supporting the outcast Charr who may not have found a warband otherwise. 

She does like to set things on fire... accidentally or on purpose... with her flamethrower, and may have aspirations towards Holosmith in the future. I’ll have to check with her and see. ;) 

Thanks for your question Tsume! I’d love to know more about your Charr, too!

Nipp - What's yer Legion? What's yer rank? And what's yer current assignment?

I’m of the Iron Legion. Though I honestly don’t take a lot of stock in traditional rank, you can consider me something like the Legionnaire of the Trap Warband. 

Still being connected to the Order of Whispers, moreso than the Black Citadel, my current objective is confidential, I’m afraid.

Honestly, there’s nothing too exciting on my side of things. I’ve mostly been focusing my research on this new Holosmith discovery.
