aaaaaaaaaaaaand its done. AWACS Galaxy for my space marines, providing up to date intel and conveying orders to all imperial forces in AO. gutted of most of its weapons to make room for communications and auspex equipment, but retaining its retaining its wing mounted missiles for a small modicum of defensive firepower. since space marines are meant to operate in small groups, coordination is key, and thats where an AWACS comes in handy.

took longer than i would have liked to finish it but i just kept putting it off cos i hate applying wash to bigger models, i just suck at appying it evenly and get too impatient to let it dry. oh well. thats the last of projecct wingman guys for now, will probably move onto kitbashing ace combat guys for my imperial guards, since lord knows i dont wanna pay forgeworld prices or work with resin to get a couple of lightnings or avengers

not a lot done today, just AWACS Galaxy's emblem and doing a pretty simple base of wild flowers and grass patches. its too humid to do anymore, and i kno i said i was gonna smash this out a couple of weeks ago but stardew valley got in the way, yall kno how it is xD also i didnt both with the little stars because christ alive i do NOT have the fine motor skills OR fine tipped brushes OR patience to pull that off. kinda reminds me of the old lego space kit emblems

@baldy-wan-kenobi, @frogblast-the-ventcore, and everyone else thats interested, i present to you Space Marine AWACS Galaxy. i wasnt gonna splurge for any forgeworld nonsense so the biggest aircraft i could get was a stormraven. the only armaments i left on it were the stormstrike missiles, for defensive purposes, cos its space marines (and they were gonna be a pain to not put on tbh). its only loosely put together to make painting it easier, and also my first time using green stuff

to celebrate my new lights coming in, i decided to finish up Brother Maxim, wisest amongst the White Talons chapter. As one of the original surviving founders of the chapter, many head his words as if they were said by the Emperor himself. Many times has his frame been modified, both in the field and off, to the point where several techpriests have listed Maxim as one of the main infractions, alongside a land raider modification, when they accused the chapter of tech heresy, though the charges were dropped shortly after said techpriests disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Armed with a pod each of krak missiles and frag missiles, a multimetla, stormbolter, and a pair of heavy stubbers, there is little that Brother Maxim cannot kill.

Monarch's Stormhawk Interceptor progress. just did that camo and emblem this morning, but if anyone knows any other identifying marks that get slapped onto Monarch's planes hit me up. i feel sorry for whoever i play my first borns against now cos u KNO im bringing monarch and this is man even nukes couldnt get rid of xD

finished Monarch, now belonging to my White Talons chapter. he doesnt talk much, even by space marine standards, and is known to remain completely silent during combat, which would cause great problems if he wasnt such a damn good pilot.

im not entirly finished with the base, since some of the wildflowers i want to put in the abandoned heavy stubber nest wont be here till next week, but im still really happy with how it turned out. its my first time doing a base so elaborate. unfortunatly, this has set a standard for all the rest of my bases going forwards

and now the priming on Space Marine AWACS Galaxy is all done :) maybe tomorrow or the next day i'll get to actually painting the finer details. the wings, radar, and engines still arent actually glued in play yet, because that's make it a bitch and a half to paint xD

one first born land speeder done (she said as if she had any others)! i like the sort of low altitude air power land speeders bring to the table, able to act both a recon, light air support, and act as a spotter for whirlwind artillery. i would love to get one or two more, but sadly, the damn things are unavailable now... oh i just checked and the whirlwind is out of stock too :(
