Hello! Can you tell me about your WIP? Where is it at? What are you struggling with? What you have planned for your OCs. What scene you are looking forward to?

Hello! Thank you so much for the ask! Of course, I can tell you about my WIP!

I have two currently, Illusions of Hope, which follows Emma Marie Colt as she reconnects with her sister, uncovers an evil plot and learns that family isn’t everything.

I also am writing a collection of short stories called The Whitebridge Chronicles about the somewhat fantastical happenings in the fictional village of Whitebridge.

I’m still on the worldbuilding of Illusions of Hope and I’m at the point where I’ve realized I just need to take the jump into writing it because you can plan forever but there’s no such thing as perfection.

I’ve currently written two stories from The Whitebridge Chronicles and have another 5 or so planned. I haven’t made any progress since January? because I’ve been a little unmotivated. BUT I know that I need to get moving and write!

I’m planning on writing a couple of little one shots of Emma and Cassidy, and Juliette for Tumblr so that I don’t give up any spoilers to the stories and I’m really looking forward to them! (If I ever publish, I’ll probably include these after the story so that everyone can read them!)

I had this whole plan to write a cute little Valentine's Day short story about Jacqueline and Evelyn to publish on Tumblr, but I ran out of time and now it’s a whole month later! I also have some ideas for the calico cat that lurks around the flower shop and some of the other characters in the town. I’m really looking forward to Alice’s story because it’s going to be introducing possibly my favorite couple in series, who will then get their own story. The whole process of The Whitebridge Chronicles is so interesting because every story I write gives me another bunch of ideas for the next few stories!

Stay

“Get out of here!” Jacqueline shrieked. She propped open the door.

The mange ridden cat had made a habit of sneaking in at the heels of unsuspecting customers. The calico sulked back against the counter and hissed at Jacqueline.

“I don’t like you either.” Jacqueline reached for her gloves. “I’ll give you ‘til the count of three.”

A low growl came from behind the counter.

“One.”

Jacqueline pulled on her gardening gloves.

“Two.”

She patted the gloves together; dirt sprinkled down onto the floor.

“Three.”

The calico skittered and hissed as Jacqueline picked her up. She gently threw the cat out into the rain and slammed the door. She took a deep breath and peered through the glass door as the cat ran off into the alley.

Jacqueline exhaled with relief and pulled off her gloves to assess the damage. A few scratches had made it through the material. She walked over to the sink and cleaned the cuts and took an antihistamine.

“Stupid cat,” she said downing her glass of water.

“Oh no, Jackie. Did that cat get you again?” Her mother, Irene, waddled down the stairs, carrying a basket of supplies.

Jacqueline nodded. “One of these days, ma. One of these days she’s going to get it.”

“Oh, come now Jackie, you wouldn’t hurt a fly.” Irene clicked her tongue and held a mint ribbon up to an arrangement. “What do you think? The mint or the emerald?”

“Mom, that cat just won’t leave me alone!” Jacqueline pinched her nose to stifle a sneeze. “Depends, who’s it for?”

So I’ve been meaning to go through all of my google docs and come up with a list of my current WIPs.

Illusions of Hope

Genre: Sci-Fi Stage: Draft 1 Word Count: 12,000~ Juliette Clarke has just been released from imprisonment after seeing something she shouldn’t have during the rebellion seven years earlier. She would like nothing more than to return home but finds that travel to and from Caldera is nearly impossible. Juliette meets Cassidy Roberts, a self-proclaimed intergalactic great thief, and Emma Marie Colt, a mysterious girl with magical powers. Brought together by a common enemy, the trio fight to expose the truth and return home.

The Whitebridge Chronicles

A series of short stories that take place in and around the village of Whitebridge.

A Man Called Toad - Published here Stay - Revision Phase 1 Callisto (working title) - Outlining Alice (working title) - Writing Draft 1

Possibly adding another WIP to this list called Break the Cycle (working title) to this collection, but I’m still figuring out where and if it will fit in with the world of Whitebridge.

Idol

Genre: New Adult Horror/Thriller Stage: Draft 1 Wordcount: 2600~ A prank gone wrong sends a boy to the hospital and Charlotte is left to answer for it. Charlotte’s boyfriend and celebrity business partner, Nolan West, leaves her and now facing charges, she is forced to reevaluate her decisions over the past year and a half. Deciding to fight to save her public image, she also finds herself fighting the very fans that made her who she is.

Raven Witch

Genre: Fantasy Stage: Outlining Wordcount: 1500~ Not one to follow the rules, Olivier is set to stand trial before the council of witches. She realizes there is a greater evil at work when the humans she had been helping turn on her and she narrowly escapes. A powerful man is harvesting witches and Olivier may be the only one who can stop him.

Bound

Genre: Fantasy Stage: Outlining Wordcount: 2,300~ Disowned by her family, a witch has turned to black magic to find a cure for her illness. As a last resort, she attempts to summon a powerful demon to form a pact to keep herself alive. After failing, finds that her soul already belongs to another. With the help of the summoned coal sprite, she sets out to break the soul pact and save her life.

Today in “well that character just took a 180...”

“What a ray of fucking sunshine she is.” Evelyn glared out into the rain and watched Andrea disappear into a doorway across the street.

Initially, Evelyn was just as polite as Jacqueline, just less formal. I like this Evelyn and but I’m writing bits of Lisbeth Salander into everything. Halp.

Stay - An Excerpt

I’m just putting the finishing touches on Stay, the second short story in my Whitebridge Chronicles series. Here’s an excerpt! Full story tomorrow!

Evie perked up. “That’s good to hear. The locals don’t seem very supportive of the Toad and Brooke staying as is, I guess,” she said as she leaned back on the counter. “I was only here couple of times when the Toad and Brooke first opened and have nothing but good memories, but there was a little bit of a fuss when I was going through with the purchase.”

“You’re from the city, right?” Jacqueline asked. “People here have a thing about ‘outsiders.’”

“Born and raised! I noticed. I’ve gotten some weird looks since I got to town. Conversations stopping when I walk in a room, you know. Almost makes me feel like I’m not welcome here or something.” Evie feigned a pout.

“Ignore them. You’re absolutely welcome here!”

Evie smiled and laughed. “You’re so sweet, Jackie.”

I’m exactly 500 words into a short story and Evelyn (Evie) just turned Jacquelin into a blubbering idiot with a look. I don’t really do the whole shipping thing, but I think I ship this?

Also, apparently I like names that end in lin/lyn/lynn/lynne.
