Now this was just getting out of hand.
Which was unfortunate because that was the only hand he had left.

[Usually a lot of the Chains can be traced back to Alice in Wonderland/ Through the Looking-Glass characters. Have you tried looking through the ones that haven’t been used? Just asking — ]
[ Hmm...-- Now that you bring that up, I haven't gone looking yet. I was trying to think up some thing without looking, but I couldn't come up with one, probably because I haven't seen/read those in quite a while now. It's fine you asked! It'd probably be best to start there anyways. ]

[ Rufus does not like those who are empty-headed, least of all flighty women. (He would not take a shine to, say, Ada Vessalius because she comes off as a bit spacey and easily lead at first glance. It’s the sort of personality that he cannot stand.) Frivolousness is not to be tolerated, and those shallow topics that are often the talk of most social functions tend to bore him. Most interactions with upper-crust ladies leave him wanting for any shred of decent conversation; though he does consider them, sometimes, a source of information — as, after all, word travels quite quickly in gossipy groups — he cannot stand their company for long. Talking circles around people is entertainment; meaningful conversation is sustainment. If someone hopes to catch his eye, she would need to be versed in many areas: politics, philosophy, literature… At the very least, she should be able to keep up with him and make the interaction worth his while. ]

One of the most annoying things about his job was the traveling. It wasn't often that Kevin was asked to visit a different town, but every once in a while there was business away from the manor he had to attend to. On one hand, it was awfully annoying because he hated being away from the Sinclairs for this long, and because he wasn't particularly good with directions. Sure, if he had been to the place before maybe, but he had a bad habit of getting lost, and he just hated asking for directions. This time, however, there seemed to be no getting around it.
Walking up to the nearest passerby, Kevin smiled awkwardly. "Ah, pardon me, but do you have a moment?"
