White Squad is a contemporary media example of post-racial satire because it pokes fun at “white privileges” that minorities don’t experience. Mary Beltrán defines post-racial as a future where racial notions and hierarchies are turned upside down. Post-racial satire describes new standards of humor, including audiences being more comfortable with laughing at racial misrepresentations and confused racial stereotypes. White Squad is painfully funny because the jokes that make us laugh, also strike a soft-spot with the tangibility of inequality. White Squad demonstrates how minorities have had to deal with inequality in America. Everyone acknowledges some improvement of racial equality, but America still has a lot of room for growth.
