super long rant under the cut, TLDR; what is a teen takeover? I doubt it’s a “riot”. Cops are aggressive and patronizing for no reason. I’m 17, if an eleven year old can be on their own I should be allowed to do the same. Teens should be allowed in malls and other public spaces. I’m angry again <3
bro I’m literally so fucking sick of this. I was at the mall with my friend and her family, my mom’s friend and her family, and all of my family and me, my friend, and her stepsister walked like three laps around the huge ass mall alone and were fine and had fun. We meet back up with everyone and did something together and then, come like three o clock, we’re on our way to the last store and a cop stops us in the middle of the mall and is yelling at us “HOW OLD ARE YOUR DAUGHTERS? HOW OLD ARE UOU?” I’m like terrified because he’s being very loud and sounds very upset so I freak out and tell him very nervously that I’m 17, then he yells at us AGAIN “GET IN LINE. THIS IS THE YOUTH SUPERVISORY PROGRAM. GET IN LINE NOW. YOULL UNDERSTAND ONCE YOU GET YOUR TICKET” and everyone’s confused and it’s just a bunch of clusters of families with teens trying to figure out what the fuck is happening, so finally he’s like “ALL MINOR CHILDREN AGED 12-17 MUST HAVE A WRIST BAND AND BE WITH AN ADULT 21 OR OVER AT ALL TIMES ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS FROM THREE TO FIVE.” Sooo. What. What if I drove myself? Are you gonna kick me out of the fucking mall? Why can an eleven year old be alone? My dad said “Oh it must have something to do with these teen takeovers” Didn’t know what that was, but basically a bunch of teens go in groups to places at one time. So like. A bunch of teens hanging out? He said they’re “teen riots” which I doubt but yknow maybe teens wouldn’t feel the need to TAKE OVER places they SHOULD be allowed IF YOU WERENT KICKING THEM OUT OF EVERY PHYSICAL SPACE AND BANNING EVERY ONLINE ONE! ITS THE MALL! THATS LIKE THE PLACE FOR TEENS TO GO??? WHAT THE FUCK.

I have a diverse diet (no shade to those who eat the same thing bc of things like sensory issues, bc me too sometimes <3) I eat all my food groups. I have fruit and yogurt for breakfast most days. If I have time I have something with more substance like eggs and toast or maybe grits. I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. IM JUST FAT FUCKER!
