I've kayaked a lot of rivers, and I can easily say that the Tobin section of the North Fork of the Feather is among the most fun I've ever paddled. Closely stacked steep and technical Rapids with boof after glorious boof! I also learned that every video I watched to gather beta before this run showed about 1/3 the flow and mostly sneak lines through the steeps; there is a lot more going on in this 1.5 miles section! The rock creek and Lobin sections provide some great III and IV whitewater as well and is still worth the trip for those not ready for Tobin. The final three clips here are from the Lobin section. The Natural Bridge section of the North Fork of the Rogue is a beautiful little III/IV run that begins where the river emerges from a huge lava-tube called the Natural Bridge. It runs all year (is more like IV+ at winter flows) and is a great one to hop on while in the area for the Mill Creek section release. One recommended portage at Therapy falls. A few clips from the Mill Creek section of the North Fork of the Rogue river last weekend. It was fun to catch both the 250 and 450 cfs release levels; all the main lines are the same but both flows offer some variety and a different feel each day. This section won't have guaranteed water again until next April when the power company fulfills its obligations to Paddler's negotiated by @americanwhitewater for recreational releases. This 1.5 mile section is continuous class IV/IV+ Boulder garden and is the best thing in Oregon this time of year. Three other sections of the rogue offer class II-V paddling in the area making for an awesome Labor Day weekend destination. It would be awesome to see more than a dozen or two Paddler's taking advantage of this next year!
