Something changed, suddenly and painfully so. As she and Cade ate, she suddenly felt this blinding pain. Rick and Thomas were with TC, so Kumu was holding down the fort at La Mariana and she with Cade so the three brothers had some alone time. They needed it now, TC probably needed it.

She tried to ignore it and hide her pain until a wince made Cade perk up. A second one had him call for Kumu. As it persisted, Cade practically begged her not to ignore it, as did Kumu. They played the ultimate card when using Thomas against her, saying he - and their ohana - have been through so much, worrying about her at home would be too much, she needed to be checked and treated.

So they called an ambulance. 

Juliet trusted one of them to call Thomas, but neither of them were able to reach him. As they arrived at the emergency room of Kings, Juliet waved to a nurse.

“My boyfriend is in room 417 with a friend who has been shot. Can you get him? He’s my emergency contact.”

“Good morning,” Lia cooed as she turned and stretched her limbs . She was warm and fuzzy, feeling the pleasurable exhaustion and soreness from her nocturnal activities with her partner Thomas - secret partner that was. 

She turned back to place her head and hand on his chest, drawing idle patterns there. 

“Do you have a case today?”

The past weeks were horrible enough, he didn’t even know what else could go wrong. Doris McGarrett was in the backyard of the house and they were arguing about how she let Wo Fat get away and about how Katherine was in the house and how Steve called Katherine Mom and Doris by her first name. The argument got more and more heated.

“Katherine raised me! She caught me when you pretended to die and was there for me and Mary. You weren’t. For you we were just a cover, weren’t we?”

Doris went right into the next rage. That way both of them didn’t hear the doorbell ring or the joyful welcome Katherine gave her son Thomas, Steve’s little brother as he was on leave. Neither Thomas, nor Mary knew about Doris, yet. That was news that had to be delivered in person. 

It was Charlie, the youngest sibling out of the four, that alerted them to something having happened.

“Steve, Thomas arrived.” That beat yelling further at Doris by miles. 

“Excuse me, family matters,” he said to Doris, tone biting, but he didn’t care. He went inside with Charlie - a girl Doris quite obviously didn’t really like - and went first to Katherine to kiss her cheek, knowing full well that Doris had followed inside and was watching. Then he looked at his little brother. 

“You look like hell, Tommy.”

Initially she was panicked. But after only one session with Dr. Ogawa Juliet was excited, even downright playful. She knew Thomas would be ecstatic. He would be delighted. And she? Well she had spent years of her life in fear and pain. She let herself be happy now, with Thomas and now that extended ot this new little thing, too.

With Rick and Thomas out of the house, Juliet took to the guest house. She had gotten a few little trinkets and most importantly a lot of stuff to make herself extremely comfortable here. Once their friends knew about them - she knew THomas was it now, but she wanted to have a little fun with the situation - she would move in properly, anyway.

Once she heard the Ferrari and the door opened, Juliet called Thomas up to show him what she did: Which was bring in a ton of pillows and blankets and an additional lounge chair for his balcony, all decked out with more pillows and stuff for her to rest on.

Their doctor cautioned them relatively early into Juliet’s pregnancy. She told them that the chances of her carrying the babies beyond 36 to 37 weeks of pregnancy were were unlikely. But then she passed 37 weeks. In 38 and it looked a lot like their twins really wanted to be carried to term.

Well they did not. Just two days before week 39, aka being considered carried to term, her labour started. Juliet was at home, snuggled into her outdoor nest when it started. Thomas was away, so she had to ask Kumu and the Nests gardener to take her to the hospital while she called Thomas.

“Hey you. So, no need to come home. It’s time. We’re on the way to the hospital. The babies want to come now.” She smiled into the call and hung up.

He wasn’t there yet when she arrived. So she was only with Kumu when she had her first check-up and was admitted into the maternity ward.

Juliet turned the music off as she heard her dogs positively lose their minds outside. She checked the cameras. There was a man on the property, holding a duffle bag, a cap obscuring his face. But Robins guest was only arriving tomorrow?

Juliet walked outside to stop the dogs, when she saw him properly. Oh she knew him. At least briefly. She knew him looming over her, face contorted in pleasure as they shared one night. She thought he was a tourist only, had accepted going back to his hotel room with him for a one night stand. One that had consequences she initially feared but not... loved more than she could ever expect. He couldn’t possibly have found out about that. Nor could he have found her, right? He only knew her first name. Just like she only knew his first name.

“Thomas? What the hell are you doing here?”

Juliet ignored the little fact that she was married now for weeks, She didn’t want anything to change, but the reality was, things had to change. Immigration would check in on her and Magnum eventually. They would have to live together, properly, for immigration to consider their marriage a real one. At least their friendship allowed them to have a solid basis.

Well and then this case happened. She got shot and Thomas carried her out of the jungle an dgot her to hospital, where a doctor flirted with her. Just as Thomas was about to pick her up. As he asked her out for a date, she held up her hand to indicate her wedding band.

“Sorry, I’m married. The latino man in my room earlier. I was so high I...introduced him as my friend. He’s my husband.” After that Dr. Shah excused himself, just in time for Thomas to come in.

“Hey.”

To say she was nervous was an understatement. She was downright terrified. Her stomach cramped still. Her hear ached, even just breathing felt like a chore. Her eyes stung with tears that threatened to fall.

Here she was with news that should be joyous. He wanted children after all. But she’d shatter these hopes again right away. A tiny, tiny part of her feared his reaction.

She went straight to the guest house, hoping Rick wasn’t there. She needed him.

He was there, alone.

“Thomas? We need to talk”
