Characters: Jedidiah Diligence Breckenridge III and Virtue Obedience Hawkins
Media: Studio C, “Puritan Roommate Finds Love” (2018)
Played by: Jason Gray and Whitney Call
Jedidiah Diligence Breckenridge III takes being “old-fashioned” to a whole new level, speaking and behaving as if he lives in the 1600s Puritan era, which includes a variety of activities such as charging $5 for monthly rent, searching for a wife to bear him children and work in the fields, and (of course) burning witches and casting the Devil out of things like ice cream.
Virtue Obedience Hawkins is Jedidiah’s soulmate, the roommate of Jedidiah’s roommates’ girlfriend, and the only woman in the 21st century who still lives according to the Puritan ways, which includes wearing shoes four sizes too small, crawling home as penance, and refusing to be alone with men.
When Jedidiah and Virtue meet, it’s love at first sight, but their strict moral code dictates that they cannot be alone and most certainly cannot show any affection... or enjoyment. Their passionate love can only be tethered so long, however, and upon realizing how much they have in common, Jedidiah and Virtue will face the utmost physical temptation: handshakes.
