I wish people would stop claiming that the reason censorship and puritanism are bad is because they hurt queer people and just admit that censorship and puritanism are bad because it's wrong to restrict people's freedom of expression.
13 days of witches: the bedeviled Puritan
What suffering, to leave behind thine home and brave the seas to settle a strange and hostile new world. Thou hast lost so much. Thine sibling, curdled in thy mother's womb; thine betrothed, injured by his own hunting trap, infection blackening his blood; thine child sister, to fever on the journey here. Thy days are long and hard and grey. Thou scrapest and strain for a crust of bread, a bit of rabbit. And what for? God? Thy family's pride? Thou couldst sit down and be served, drink of good wine, sup on tender calf-meat and sugared cakes, thy beauty praised and preserved, wrapped in silks and furs. Thou needst never lose a thing again. Pray, tell me... wouldst thou like to live deliciously?
the roaring wind, the rushing streams, the howling beasts, and every other voice of the unconverted wilderness, were mingling and according with the voice of guilty man . . .
Starting a new post because I'm not derailing my original one twice, but if anyone is interested in seeing more of the hauntingly beautiful or delightfully derpy mortuary art of early New England, I highly recommend visiting the Farber Gravestone Collection.
This is a photography series, mostly by Daniel and Jessie Farber, documenting over 9,000 pre-1800 gravestones in high-quality black and white photos. It is not a comprehensive list of stones by any means, but it is searchable by state, town, carver, and style, and gives a wonderful overview of the different types of stones that you can see in our old burying grounds.

I don't know why are people complaining about "modern dating" or "lust" or "this generation doesn't know love anymore" or am I just the asexual one? 😭
Although I have discussed about this phenomenon, I still find it kinda amusing to see allos complain like statements above yet somehow they still crave sex, I'm starting to question, what is their ideal definition of sexual expression anyway?
One moment it's “Sex is natural, beautiful, and part of love.”, the next moment, “Sex is dangerous, shameful, and must be controlled.”
Like- for them sex is taboo, sex is reckless, sex is immoral or impure often times, yet it is also STILL expected in most long-term relationships. If they consider sex as "special" and "sacred" why be scared of it in the first place? Why make it so that having sex outside of their "sacred" conditions is considered shameful? I will never understand this in allos/non-acespec people, genuinely.
BUT SO FR Y'ALL. I am asexual, but I still experience romantic attraction (I have crushes here and there too, kinda questioning if I am demirom but still).
You know what I really hate about everything be puritan nowadays? It's that nothing is really "Puritan." None of you want to purify the Church of England. None of you at all.
