Lab Assistant Profile: Whitney Chen
Whitney Chen is a sophmore Design major at the College of Fine Arts. She is part of our first cohort of University Leadership Network interns. Her knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software has been invaluable to the Media Lab during our pilot year, as Whitney has repeatedly gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist lab users with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. This semester she is enrolled in Design Technologies II, Visual Syntax and Communication, Design History and Italian Art History. “Even though my studies and practices revolve around digital media, design and typography,” she says, “drawing with a pencil and paper is still my bread and butter.”
Regarding the Media Lab, Whitney says, “I like the resources and software available. I don’t have to travel long distances to the art building to do work.”
