The fanciest dinner I will ever have in Los Angeles - or the entire world.
So one of my good friends has a blood disease which requires him to receive medication once a week. This medication is extremely expensive - up to $500,000 a year. The company that distributes this medicine, feels the need to suck up to some of their patients by sending them to ridiculously overpriced restaurants once a month. As a big fuck you to the company and their insane prices, everyone that attends these dinners just goes nuts and gets whatever they want and it's on the companies dime. I was invited to this months dinner at Patina, a French restaurant at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. I had to ask my friend a few times after looking at the menu if he was sure I didn't have to pay since I cannot afford a $30 salad. After assuring me over and over I got the $50 salmon. After sitting there for a while and laughing about how ridiculously fancy this place was, how scary the servers in tuxes were, and how shitty it is that these people have an awful disease and this is the medical companies lame attempt at appeasing it's customers, we decided to go balls to the walls and get caviar. Turns out, the caviar was actually really good and the salmon was shit. After almost 2 grand spent at the restaurant, these people still have this disease and are still paying $500,000 a year for this medication. Sucks. Anyway, here are some fancy shmancy pictures from dinner.
