From a distance the Whola sprite seems to be a round-ish, melty blob.  When you zoom in, you can see that there’s a tail there, held high and flat against Whola’s back.  I assume that when its tail is fully extended Whola looks a little more whale-like.  Or at least seal-like.

The idea of a whale with viper fangs is kind of hilarious to me.
