Clove Tea
Beautifully fragrant with warming notes, this spiced Clove Tea is also soothing, helping digestion and calming toothaches, which is just what's needed at this festive time of the year where meals are bountiful and sweets and chocolates are welcome! Happy Monday!
Ingredients (serves 2):
about 1 tablespoon whole cloves
750 millilitres/3 cups water
3 heaped teaspoons Manuka Honey
Spoon cloves in a mortar, and gently crush with the pestle. Set aside.
Pour water in a saucepan, and bring to the boil over medium-high heat.
Stir in crushed cloves, and reduce heat to medium. Simmer, for 8 to 10 minutes until well-infused.
Stir in Manuka Honey until completely melted.
Strain into mugs or large tea cups.
Serve Clove Tea hot!

i really wanted to establish the energy in my new home as warm & welcoming, so i invited some close friends & family to a little housewarming party. as a thank you, i put these together to hand out to each guest.
•homemade dried oranges for increased productivity
•pine sprigs foraged from the trees around my home for purity
•responsibly sourced cinnamon sticks for prosperity
•cloves for protection
of course i went a little overboard and have many gift bags to hand out throughout the rest of the holiday season.
there will be many future gatherings. my home already feels more full~
Mulled Gin
The week is over and I’m on holidays! I’m baking biscuits to hang on the tree Jules and I will pick tomorrow, writing Christmas cards and relaxing with a beautifully spiced and delicately warming Mulled Gin! Happy Friday, friends!
Ingredients (serves 2):
250 millilitres/1 cup Maple Apple Juice
2 cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
1 tablespoon pure (Grade A) Canadian Maple Syrup
1 tablespoon Cinnamon Syrup
60 millilitres/2 fluide ounces (4 tablespoons) London Dry Gin
2 lemon slices, for garnish
In a small saucepan, combine Maple Apple Juice, cinnamon sticks and cloves and bring to a simmer over a low flame. Stir in Maple Syrup and Cinnamon Syrup. Cook, a couple of minutes.
Pour 30 millilitres/1 fluid ounce Gin into each of two heat-proof glasses. Strain hot, spiced Apple Juice into the glasses, and give a stir, to combine.
Garnish with a slice of lemon, and enjoy Mulled Gin immediately.
