the neckbeard has to go
YOU HAVE TO GO
I fully agree, which is why I didn't watch the show. I couldn't be bothered to stay for that even though I like a few of the attendees, such as Jhutch ;)
Haha! Josh and Sam Claflin are literally the only reasons why I watched. They're too adorable and attractive and yeah. I didn't care much for the rest of the show, tbh.
it'd make no sense making a tribute to someone most of the audience didn't care for. The THG fandom mostly care about the main characters and other tributes, not so much the rest. While I think it was very nice for them to make a tribute to Paul, MTV isn't really serious business and MTV knows it.
I don't know. I just feel strongly about this subject, I guess, because I feel like PSH deserved more. I'm sure that other stars in the audience and the other movie buffs in the crowd would have found it nice to honor him, and I believe they make up a large portion of last night's audience.
You're right, MTV isn't serious business. No one truly respects the network because they can't be taken seriously. But they'd gain a lot more respect in my opinion if they cut out all of the "dick pic" jokes and other vulgarity, cut Mark Wahlberg short on his speech so he's not spending 10 years on stage swearing like a sailor (I mean GEEZ, younger kids watch this show too!) and actually added more tasteful content like--I don't know--maybe a second memorial for a star.
I'm not mad about any of this; I just feel like the content could have been better.
Psh didn't appeal to the younger audience nor had a history with MTV movie awards. Paul had attended several
Well, tbh that shouldn't matter. He was still an iconic part of Hollywood and even though he "didn't appeal to the younger audience," he would have ended up appealing to them eventually. He played Plutarch Heavensbee in the Hunger Games movies.
A lot of THG fans would have ended up fangirling over him and loved him simply because of the fact that he was Plutarch. It just happens sometimes. For example, no one would care about who Ashley Greene was if it weren't for the Twilight saga. It's a supporting role and she wouldn't have appealed to a lot of pre-teens/teens/young adults as much if it weren't for the movies.
Although PSH was a well-known actor to the big movie buffs and the older generations, he would have ended up being beloved by the younger generation as well. From Catching Fire alone, I can tell he made a positive impact on the fans.
Additionally. if THG: Catching Fire was nominated for so many categories this year, wouldn't it make sense to honor someone's memory who portrayed a pretty hefty role in the film? I don't know. I just feel like it would have been nice to have his legacy shown in a montage of film clips as well.
"this doesn't change canon..." WHY U GOTTA BE SUCH A NEGATIVE NANCY HUH?? BESIDES I'VE COMPLETELY BLOCKED OUT ANYTHING RON/HERMIONE, I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER HOW MANY KIDS THEY GOT OR THEIR NAMES, SO MY CANON> URS
BUT I SHIP H/HR. I'M JUST TRYING TO BE REALISTIC HERE. GO SHAVE YOUR BACK.
