looking at alana, they were both sitting down at a table, across from them was jamie and meredith, but after jamie had done something to clearly fuck it up they both had walked out yelling at each other, and what was left was the two of them. considering it was an outside bar, he had lit a cigarette and looked over at the girl that he was set up with. they had seen each other around school, and had some mutual friends, and went to the same parties but he didn’t know her too well other than what jamie had said. “so, um, how do you know them?” he questioned, trying to think of good conversation. all the lives that kaden lived were in his head, he didn’t talk much.
jamie was smoking a cigarette in his apartment, sitting across from meredith who was sitting on jamie’s bed. they had another argument again. it wasn’t unusual for them to be arguing about something. they were changing, how they acted with each other. it was sometimes too much for jamie who wanted to say fuck it all and disappear. and he had sometimes -- disappeared. he wouldn’t tell meredith where he was and he’d be gone for days and when he came back they’d fight, they’d fuck, and they’d go back to their normal. he wasn’t even sure what they were fighting about anymore but the cigarettes weren’t cutting it out for him anymore. “can you hand me the bong please?” he said with a sigh, running a hand through his hair.
raedyn couldn’t believe that they got married in a courthouse, it was on her list of things to do, and though it seemed cliche, how could they just up and go get married out of nowhere, she was thankful. because they had been best friends for so long, he was the only stable thing in her life, and though they never talked about what they were, they knew that they were something. she was able to see her brother sutter for one of the last times, as he was off to his job in new york city with her cousin, grayson. things were changing, rae was getting sicker, but they continued to be. it wasn’t that hard to sleep next to each other, they did it sometimes, but waking up next to him, it was like no other thing -- it was special. “hi,” she said with a small smile, turning on her side to face him.

Ben let out a light laugh as Rose choked on the vapor that was going into her lungs, the smoke coming out in coughs as she got tears in her eyes from not being able to breath.
Ben let out a light laugh as Rose choked on the vapor that was going into her lungs, the smoke coming out in coughs as she got tears in her eyes from not being able to breath.
“Ben!” Rose choked out as she was done coughing, “Why did I agree to this? And why does it taste like cherries and creme?” Rose asked as an after thought.
The man next to her laughed, and took the box from her, easily inhaling, and exhaling. “I want to try something.” He told her. “You have to trust me, okay? It’s called a shotgun.”
Rose raised an eyebrow, and then nodded, “Of course I trust you.”
Ben smiled, “Try not to kiss me.” He winked, making Rose turn red as moved closer to her. “Suck in what I exhale.” He took a hit of the vape, and then moved closer to her, slowly exhaling the smoke.
Rose did as Ben told her to, and could feel his body heat radiating from him as she inhaled the smoke that was in his lungs, and holy shit it felt intimate. She watched his blue eyes as she inhaled.
Once he pulled away from her, she exhaled into the room, looking at him with wide eyes as he laughed some more, before tracing her cheek. “Look at how red you are.” He smiled softly.
Rose swallowed, and couldn’t speak, simply nodding at him, her mind replaying what had just happened over and over again. “Why was that so...”
“Intimate? Because it’s supposed to be. But hey.” Ben quickly changed the subject, “You’re not choking anymore.” Of course, leave it to him to crack a joke when Rose’s stomach was full of butterflies.

Rose smiled when Ben sat across from her, setting her tea in front of her as she grabbed her History homework and threw a couple of pens on the table. “Ready for this?” She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and looked at Ben.
Rose smiled when Ben sat across from her, setting her tea in front of her as she grabbed her History homework and threw a couple of pens on the table. “Ready for this?” She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and looked at Ben.
Ben laughed, “We’re studying, Rose, not running a marathon.”
Rose grinned, and watched him run his hand through his hair as he got his notes out for her to use and try to understand what they needed to know about the test they had in a couple of days.
What Ben didn’t know about Rose how much she admired him, and how hard she actually fell for him when they first met, and it kept getting worse, and worse, and worse.
She took a drink of her tea, and grabbed Ben’s notes. She glanced up when he threw a chip at her. “How was class today?” He asked after he was done chewing.
“You left me for lunch! I had to sit alone!” She accused him. “What’s her face asked about you.” Rose didn’t try to hide the jealousy in her voice as she told him about the the whore that wanted to get with him.
Ben rolled his eyes, “I’m sorry.” He gave her a look. “And I had to take care of something...”
“I know that you...give people pot, Ben.” She gave him a look. “I can smell it everytime I hug you after lunch. It’s not that hard to figure out when my uncle smokes it.”
Ben’s eyes lit up at the mention of Rose’s uncle, “The one that pots ejuice into the pot to make it smell and taste better?”
“That one.” Rose went back to her notes, before sighing, “I can’t read your chicken scratch. Well, usually I can, but not this one.” She tapped at a word. “What does that even say?”
Ben took the paper away from her again, “That says Caesar.” He handed it back, “Rose?”
“Hm?” She didn’t look up as she kept writing.
“You’re...nevermind.” Ben shook his head, making Rose look up at him in question.
“I’m what?”
“You’re a dork.” He glanced down as he covered up the comment he wanted to make, as Rose scoffed.
“Thanks, you whore.” She winked, making Ben laugh, and the comment in his mind forgotten.
Jacob had opened the apartment door with a very tired boy trailing behind him, it was almost dark, he had taken a deep breath, exhaling slowly, Mason knew not to go near Marnie because nothing would happen. “You were supposed to pick him up today.” Jacob started, looking at the wall for a moment. “You didn’t pick him up. The school called me,” He covered Masons ears, “What the fuck is wrong with you?” Mason shoved his hands away and went to his bedroom.
