Just why do we do any of this creative stuff, anyway? A lot of us won’t ever make any money at it. We won’t become famous. We won’t headline an art exhibit or a stadium show. We’ll be happy if we sell some art here and there, or if someone listens to our podcast. 😉 We’re not in it for the recognition, or the money (though we wouldn’t argue with some of either). It’s really a fairly irrational thing to throw paint on a canvas or prance around on a stage (as many of us heard from our parents growing up—and even after). So why do we persist?⠀ .⠀ If you’ve known me for any length of time at all, you’ll know I’m a big fan of @samneilltheprop (and even got to visit his gorgeous New Zealand farm two years ago). This quote crossed my path a few days ago, and I think it’s the best explanation for why we do creative things as any I’ve ever seen. We humans do plenty of irrational things, but none give back quite the way indulging our creativity does.
