#whyfeminism? African women are the largest labourers in the Agricultural sector, but are prevented from owning or inheriting land by patriarchal traditions. Globally, women are just 13 per cent of agricultural land holders. Laws and cultural practices are the inhibitors to women owning land in many parts of Africa. Inheritance laws, particularly the practice that denies women the right to inherit from their husbands and fathers.
