15-30/08/2015 | From 15th to 30th August 2015, I took part in NCS - The Challenge. The whole experience was so unbelievably incredible! During the first day, we were put into our teams (TEAM WARD FOREVER WOO), where we met our mentors and team members. At the very beginning, the environment was...awkward, to say the least. By the end of the day, however, it was as if we had known each other forever! We could say and do anything around each other, we were like a family. During the first week, we partook in different activities, which included walking up and down a big mountain (thanks Liam for keeping me company up the mountain), and sitting on a rowing boat, getting lost on Lake Windermere. By the second week, we had to live together in a university. In our team, we had to come up with our way of getting our £50 from the "Dragons", to enable us to buy the supplies we needed for our campaign (#whywaste, look it up on twitter). In the end, we got our £50 and the campaign was a success. On the final day, we had a cake baking competition! The cake baking went...well.. However, we still won, thanks to the creative ability of Phoebe and Isa! Well done, guys :) The final week was great, too. We completed our campaign and did activities at the college. The final day was so emotional...we had a mini party at the end of the day, and we knew we would never see our mentor, Tom, again...He moved to another country, and we were all incredibly emotional. Even still, the whole experience was the best experience I've ever had, and I made new friends that I'll definitely stick with for life! Thank you, Team Ward for an unforgettable experience, I'll never forget you lot :)
