walking in a winter wonderland | caroline & harry
Now that Caroline had joined the cast of Hellywood, Harry couldn't wait to see her again. Even though their relationship ended a year ago, right when the boys were about to leave to America for the UAN tour, he couldn't stop thinking about it. The fans were harsh and the timing couldn't have been worse; there was no way it would've stayed strong throughout that time in the states. But still, he never could wipe dopey schoolboy grin off his face when he'd rewatch interviews of them or when the other boys would bring her up. Something about knowing a mature, sophisticated lady like herself got him beaming ridiculously. He'd heard about how she pulled over on the street and cried calling Olly after the breakup, and that broke his heart. Olly was a great pal and all, taking care of her while Harry couldn't, but the reassurance that she genuinely cared for him the same way he did made him never lose optimism. And now that they were both here for the show, he wanted to see if that chemistry was still there.
It was evening now and quite cold outside. Harry dressed in a pair of dark jeans, lacing up his brown Chukka boots. He pulled a black v-neck shirt over his head, followed by a thick cream colored jumper, and a heavy black peacoat to finish. He wrapped a grey scarf three times around his neck the way their stylist had showed him to do, then popped the color of his coat to block the wind. For extra warmth, he pulled his new orange beanie over his mass of curls, but didn't tuck them under as he usually did. The boy smeared chapstick over his dark pink lips, knowing that the cold bite of New York's winter would easily make them less kissable.
Checking the time on his phone, the Cheshire boy began heading down to the lobby and out the entrance doors, making his way toward Central Park. On his way, he stopped at one of the street vendors, handing the man a twenty dollar bill in exchange for two hot chocolates. "Keep the change, mate," he said with a smile, hoping the poor guy didn't have to stand out there in the cold for much longer. Once he got further into the park, he stopped at a bench and lightpole, setting the steaming paper cups down to text Caroline where he was. He was down, taking a sip of his own hot chocolate while waiting for her to join him.
