With the exception of Bain, nobody in the Payday gang really knows Jacket’s past.

All they know is that he supposedly took down the entire Russian mafia in Miami all on his own, and what’s he like now.

Of course that doesn't mean every one doesn't have their theories. Some are more closer to the truth than others.

Chains was the one who noticed it.

It was in the way Jacket walked, moved, and held his weapons. It was in the fact that Jacket's Piece seemed to be from the actual military. It was the small clinking of metal under his shirt when he was moved to abruptly.

The bittersweet relationship between him and DONZAs like the last Monday of May. The way he could administer shitty but obviously trained medical aid. The way he was one of the more faster gang members(Though he was out ran by Wick, Dragan, and Chains when he wasn’t wearing full armor)

Jacket waited for it.

Waited to be pestered about the photo hidden away. About the Ghost Wolves. Interrogating anything they could get the silent heister.

But Chains never said anything.

He just began using jargon with him like he did with Wick. As well as making small comments. Like how MnM’s was one of the best chocolates because it would become good during long tours.

Or involving him in argument he had with Wick about whether or not MRE’s soups are any good (He agreed with Chains, Wick is a strange, strange, man with no standards for food.)

A strange trio they were. The things they had the most in common were never talked about.

But hey, he was familiar with this. This comradery.

Even if he had forgotten.

Even if it was three instead of four.

Even if it wasn’t him.
