Do undead beings exist in the setting? Is there anything classified as 'dark magic'?
Hmm.... I didn't consider it BUT I bet that could be a fun development!
Demons are pretty skilled in evil junk, so they probably know a few vile spells up their sleeves. And considering their goal is to cause the end of the world, I bet having an army of previously defeated foes reanimated as zombies or what have you would be a good tactic on their end.
You seemed to have uploaded some art of some WE characters, also a Sphinx, so I have to ask - are the sphinxes quadruped or more like "hairy human"-bodied? It wasn't totally clear in the picture.
They are bipedal, like an anthro character, for the sake of convenience. But they can also probably walk on all fours if they wanted.
What is the exact nature of the god of the setting? Is it a cookiecutter Abrahamic God, or is it more Fantasy style?
Good Question! I think it's more of an Abrahamic God.
The story with their god is basically he creates the universe and all the species in four days. And then he ascends to the True Land, which is Heaven.
Another story is that there was already some bit of a world there, the world Above (with angels) and the world Below (with demons), and that what separated them was this big emptiness. So god came and he filled it in with the WE world. And in the beginning all the races were the Good Races, until the Vile Race decided they wanted to destroy those who believed in god so they teamed up with some of the races (the Shamed Races) and fought in a really horrible war. But the end was a stalemate, a very long and tense stalemate, which leads us to the beginning of the WE story.
I could make it more interesting and possibly have their god be from some other kind of world, and another group of gods, who gets angry and goes to create his own world to rule. But then I would have to create that other world and it gets too Matroyshka at that point.
It's time for another Sunday Night Ask Game! I'm hoping I will get a bit more participation on this one.
Tonight I would like you to ask me questions pertaining to my fantasy world setting, which I call Wicked End. You know, the one with the different races and the countries named after chemical elements? That one.
Ask me questions so I can flesh it out a bit more. Or ask questions that are like, things you want clarified!
The Vampire Aristocracy is a group of incredibly powerful Vampires who have been around since the Vile Days. They have lived so long that they are immune to most vampire killings, except for a stake to the heart. The Aristocracy would prefer to send its servants into battle instead of themselves, but when the Aristocracy shows up, you better run for the hills. They are serious fighters, equipped with great strength and speed as well as bloodlust.
The Aristocracy is said to meet with the Vile Race about once a year, on Samhain, the day of Demons. But they are rumored to keep in touch with the Demons through footmen to the Vile Lands.
Their Nation is called Yttrium.
Werewolves are more simple. There are two big Werewolf packs - Arum and Argentum, each ruled by an Alpha Werewolf, that fight constantly through the night. Daytime is the only peaceful time, where the separate packs prepare for the night's raids and skirmishes. Both Packs have about the same amount of land, but they are always greedy for more land, and the glory of defeating their enemies.
Werewolves are a little less advanced than the Vampires, relying on Revolutionary War-era technology like old rifles and bayonets. Mostly though they rely on their fangs and claws. Werewolves can only change in the night, by the light of the moon, and they are at their strongest at the full moon. Surprisingly, Werewolves put equal importance on females and males. Female Werewolves are said to have better senses and are often employed as trackers, where Males are brawnier and are usually the ones in brawls.
The Werewolves are so busy fighting that on Samhain they each send a representative to visit the Demons. Werewolves and Demons probably get along the least of the Four Shamed Races, and it's common that not all their representatives come back alive.
Their nation is called Selenium.
Ogres are a very brutal race, antisocial and sometimes gross. It's no surprise that they are extremely primitive in terms of technology; they usually steal products from other Races when they need something. But Ogres are known for one thing - solitude. They do not have any kind of social interaction if they can manage it. Ogres rarely marry, and females are just as brutal as males. The Ogre nation is very expansive, but most of it is uninhabitable wetlands. Ogres tend to live on the edges of wetlands so they can harvest the creatures in the bogs as well as the ones on land.
There is no Ogre political system. It's literally every Ogre for him or herself.
Ogres don't really care for Demons, but they hate the idea of being "holy" so they side with the Vile Race. Many Ogres are shipped off to Demons to serve them as bodyguards. These are usually Ogres who are fed up with being alone and would rather live with Demons than live solo.
The Ogre nation is called Argon.
Finally, Dragons. Dragons are the most enigmatic of the Races. They usually live alone or in pairs, and they rule over large expanses of land. Out of all the Races, there are the least Dragons. But Dragons are usually the most powerful. They have incredible strength and size, and many can fly and breath fire. Dragons' lives depend on how much wealth and land they have. They receive a kind of power from wealth that extends their lives.
There is a ruler of the Dragons, known as the Ancient One, who has been alive since the founding of their nation. He commands the most land in the nation, as well as many Dragons who serve him. He is immobile, and has advisors who usually represent him on Samhain. He is also incredibly wealthy, and it's said that his lair is on top of a gold mine.
Dragon males are dominant in society, but there really isn't much society to name. They are surrounded by harems of female Dragons, who deliver them offspring and usually do most of the hunting. Female Dragons are better fliers, but Males are more adept at breathing fire.
