PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!
Or: A Behind the Scenes Look at making a Shitty Slapdash Oz cause @radioactivespacebug asked
So the Gallery was very much down last night, which meant I was left to my own devices to come up with a set to do previews. I figured the classic yellow brick road would be the easiest thing to do! Ensue forced perspective terrain paint shenanigans on a 64x64 in Ravenwood. I brought the lot up to max height to try and get more sky in the shot - which I did end up cutting out with chroma key instead and making my own in photoshop anyway.
I needed an Emerald City on the horizon, and luckily I remembered that my dear talented friend Oak built one in Planet Coaster 2 a few weeks back for fun. He also put together a scene but I did end up going with the bluescreen one for ease of adjusting the composition!
The rest was done in Photoshop! I comped together my janky terrain, painted it yellow with a bit of multiply, added atmospheric perspective and blur to create a sense of distance, and added my characters, as well as cast shadows to ground them in the scene! And Dang it I think it looks pretty good for something so frantic. Thank you again Oak for the Emerald City pictures!
