So yes over the holidays we finally went to see Wicked: For Good (Wicked Part 2). I can say there was not to many people there for this one being it was pretty much at the end of its theatrical run I would say, but I would say I thought it was pretty good I did enjoy it.
You can see what I thought of part one here and there were cups and buckets for this when it was released but I didn't get any.
but as for the movie I'm not going to say alot about it but I am going to touch on somethings. first off again it is another musical extravaganza and there are some great songs in this but I do feel that there are some that come off as kinda unnecessary..? like they were just there to fill up time and chew up screen time you could change the words to "popular" to "unnecessary" "Unnecessary You're gonna be unnecessary you're going to fill up the screen and chew up the scene.." lol see I deserve an Oscar for best original song
but seriously..the dance choreography in this was pretty impressive and the costumes and production design were all great of course being these were done back to back. Visually this is still really impressive with the forest animals and the monkeys with some of the other characters that appear later on.
I don't feel like this is a direct continuation I feel like there was a bit of a time jump maybe a few month to a year or so? and it shows the continued decent of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) into becoming Wicked and Glinda (Ariana Grande) becoming Glinda the Good and how their lives spiral into this kinda showdown. you get to see things like the arrival of Dorothy (you never get to see her face only from the side or the back) and also the creation of both The Tin Man and The Scarecrow which I though was kinda cool as well as the actual creation of the Yellow Brick Road.
I did find the fist fight near the end on the movie between Elphaba and Glinda hilirous! its like the funniest thing in the whole 2 movies. but the movie does end with some rather interesting reveals. but in the end I thought it was pretty good so if you loved the first one you should like the second.
