very interested to know the properties of the wide ape. is the ape always the same amount of wide or does it shift to always be proportionally wider than the room it is in? if outside would the ape wrap around the world? would the ends of the ape intersect, thus creating a theoretically infinitely wide ape? if you put the ape in outer space would the ape become wider than the known universe? have people done any tests on this ape to discern its limits? is it limitless? are there multiple wide apes or just one?

Every so often I think about “wide ape” and how much of a funny concept it is. Forgive me for not having the post handy, but y’all know the one.

I brought it up with my friends once, because I was bored and we were painting a room. And oh my god.

The discourse it brought upon us was more than I could ever imagine. It was glorious. To this day it still gets brought up, and whenever people ask questions that the original post never answered I just have to bullshit my way through it

“What happens if someone tries to kill Wide Ape?”

Well obviously they attacker would die, by mysterious circumstances or by their own hand

“Can Wide Ape die?”

No, he’s Wider than death.

Please share some lore about Wide Ape! Like, what caused you to come up with it, when might characters in-universe have reason to discuss it, that sort of thing?

Okay so the insp is a friend sent me this image captioned "what if an orangutan's face went the whole way across its head" and then things just sort of spiralled from there.

Wide Ape, who's true name, Nagyesgonoz, cannot be written anywhere that light shines, is an impossibly wide being who's aspects are greed and hunger. He is always hungry. He loves deep, dark places. Mining disasters are blamed on him. It is said if you're in a cave or tunnel and you feel a breeze, you are feeling the breath from his wide nostrils. Looking upon his width can drive a man insane. He's only been mentioned twice in over 200 sessions with my current party but they live in fear of him.

One of my dnd players just got sent the Wide Ape post from a member of their other group. Guys I don't know if I can handle this level of fame

Not to be weird, but I love your "Wide Ape" idea so much I think I'm gonna use a version of that in my own game ❤️ Shits been too dark with back to back dark gods and evil emperors and it's like, lets have a minor quest where a cryptid enthusiast pays for the party to find evidence of some non-euclidian primates 🐵 🍌
