Classic sounds in the background while Wiggz lets the fans know that he will be the greatest. Over a IGNORVNCE production, Wiggz want his lyrics to be felt from Philly and beyond. wiggz replied to your photo:And we’re (finally!) off to the races.
That is quite a “vaporwave” (I believe all the kids call it) video editing setup you have there.
Hmmm..
Vaporwave is a musical genre that has emerged in the early 2010s from indie dance genres such as seapunk or chillwave, and, more broadly, electronic dance music. Although there's much diversity and ambiguity in its attitude and message, vaporwave often serves as both a critique and parody of consumerist society, '80s yuppie culture, and New Age music, while sonically and aesthetically showcasing a curious fascination with their nostalgic artifacts.
I actually laughed at the "seapunk" genre because I just imagine sailors with big popeye arms, mowhawks and wallet chains being like "EFF THE ESTABLISHMENT"
Okay so
I am now President Queen of the Environment Society in uni. In its first year of existence, all of three or four years ago, it was the Conservation Society, and it was a university with a different name, being as it was pre-merger (we now have a name that sounds like an STI, you'll agree when I get to it.) Anyway, I'm not sure who did the logo for the Conservation Society that year, but it was fine. Not that imaginative. Not problematic. It was okay.
It looked like this:
Fine, yes? Just... fine.
Anyway, no changes in the second year. Then, third year (this academic year just gone), it needed a new logo because the university merged and changed name, and so went from Swansea Metropolitan to - um, okay, brace yourselves - University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, Swansea Metropolitan University. Obviously, we abbreviate this; but thus it is that the uni is known as TSD, which sounds like a disease of a most romantic nature. Sometimes TSD Swansea to clarify which campus. Whatevs.
New logo was needed though, and last year's president, when getting it, forgot what the Society was called, and told them to call it the Environment Society. This was not a foolish mistake on his part.
The Students' Union graphic designer who misnamed the university in the logo made a pretty foolish error though.
Now that...
That bothers me. Not the name (although seriously, ever heard of proof-reading?) But that logo. That logo.
I love the Zelda-ness of it. I love the colours. I love the leafness.
WHY DOESN'T IT LINE UP PROPERLY
I DON'T EVEN HAVE OCD AND I CAN'T LOOK AT THAT INTERNAL TRIANGLE WITHOUT WINCING
So I went this year to Tumblr user Wiggz. When I say I went to him, I mean I walked up the stairs in my house and knocked on his door and said "Wiggz," I said, "I want a logo from you chop chop"
This is what happens when you ask a graphic designer who actually gives a shit and works with you, Tumblrs, you get this:
I'm so happy. I'm so happy. Best, best thing.
As seen in the intensely awesome The Cursed Earth blog, a quartet of Judge Hershey pics by certified cool guys Ben Willsher, Colin Wilson, Phillip Bond and Nick Dyer. I would aggresively recommend the blog, ran by a fella called Wiggz, to anyone who's even remotely a 2000AD fan, or likes art in general. It's a fantastic vignette into dozens of amazing artists, both modern and classic, with really distinctive styles.
Also, is it just me or does Hershey just look a lot better in profile shots?
