“I'm not afraid. It's the Wizard who should be afraid of me.”
anemone : how does your muse view the world ; as a cruel & unforgiving place , a land full of wonders , or something in - between ? where does that world view come from ( what experiences , life lessons , etc . ) ? ( for both of your doctors ! )
The Thirteenth Doctor at first views the world with a sense of wonder. As time goes on, though, events have an effect on her. So by the end of her tenure, while she's still optimistic and hopeful, I'd say she lands more in the middle. I'd say this worldview is a direct result of the character development the Twelfth Doctor went through. In the beginning, he was a bit darker and grumpier, but by s10 he was still grumpy-ish but in a more endearing way and he realized the importance of kindness and hope. His speech before regenerating into 13 proves that. "Laugh hard, run fast, be kind." I think, as a regeneration, 13 really takes that to heart, almost too much. And she tries to be the kindest she can be, and the most hopeful. Sometimes this looks like her ignoring problems or just trying to find a solution but not really putting much thought into it. But sometimes it also works out for her, and her hopeful and kind nature makes her very open-minded. I think because 12 went through so much, and through it all realized the importance, as I said earlier, of kindness and hope, 13 really tries to embody those traits. And she truly believes in doing so. "Medicine, engineering, science, candyfloss, lego, problems, people, hope. Mostly hope." "Something I believe, in my faith, is that love is a form of hope. And like hope, love abides in the face of everything." "Keep your faith. Travel hopefully. The universe will surprise you. Constantly." You can see in these quotes that 13 truly believes in the power and importance of hope. And kindness goes right along with that. 13 always tries to do the kind thing, but sometimes gets frustrated when driven into a corner by the monster/villain of the episode. So if she can't find another solution, she'll be unkind. But only to those who she sees as deserving of it. If someone has done her no harm, and would not do harm to others, she won't. That's my take on it anyway.
For the [Redacted] Doctor, they're definitely in the middle as well. They still appreciate the wonders of the universe, and always try to help others. And they still believe in the power of hope and kindness, much like 13. But they also acknowledge their own moral grey areas a bit more than 13 does. (13's more in denial that she has them. Though she can recognize them in past incarnations.) They also are a bit more world-weary due to having lived a lot longer than 13 has and their existential crisis over this possibly being their last incarnation. So all they really want is to find some happiness, and to enjoy what the universe has to offer. Of course, they will never say no to helping others. And they are still overall a good person. But they acknowledge their moral greyness a whole lot more. For the Redacted Doctor, they've been through so so so much. Through it all they've retained certain traits like kindness, wonder, and hope. But they are also exhausted and though they try to live up to their "never be cruel or cowardly" mantra, it can get hard at times. They also have more of a temper than 13 would. (Though she still has one as well). And are somewhat easy to frustrate. The Redacted Doctor, however, will always apologize if they snap at someone or do anything harmful. They would never WANT to harm anyone, but they are aware that they're not perfect. So all they can do is try to appreciate what life has given them so far and continues to give them, and to enjoy the wonders of the universe, and to try to act with hope and kindness along the way. And they will.

“Got a haircut today. Didn't even hurt. Such a waste of time."
“An angel who came to save me who didn’t even know that she give me something to believe in even for a day.” ( BAVEY!!! )
look at me, i'm the king of new york// accepting // @wiildroses / @indigodreames
How is she supposed to respond to that? How is she supposed to do anything but melt into a puddle of girlish giggles and cheek-achingly wide smiles? Her heart is so full of love and fondness she genuinely wonders if it'll burst in her chest.
It takes so long for her brain to find some words and longer still for her tongue to give them form. Still, eventually, Betty laughs - a burst of effervescence before the words can follow. "I'm sorry, how am I the writer when you talk like that?" Her arms lock around his neck, needing to be as close to him as possible. "You're incredible, Davey. Anything I did or do to help you, I'm so glad I can do for you."
maybe i could make us breakfast in the morning. ( julestina ) / @wiildroses
"Make us breakfast?" He quirks a brow at her words, a smile tugging at his lips despite his best attempts to tame it. "You know we can't make breakfast just for us and not the whole house." Has he tried once, wanting to surprise Cristina, only for the twins to unexpectedly wake up way too early and ruin his nice gesture? Maybe. He never had the heart to tell Cristina anyway, too embarrassed by his failed attempt.
Julian hums, musing over the scenario for a moment. He loves having the Institute filled with his family, wouldn't trade it for the world... but he would be lying if he said that he didn't find himself craving some more time alone with Cristina - beyond the stolen hours after dark, sacrificing sleep just to be in each other's company a little longer.
"Maybe if we wake up really early." He laughs, a promise in his words despite how casually he says them. "But if it means I get to have your cooking all to myself, well... I'm up for it if you are."

she nearly jumps in place when the durast's eyes land on her, too lost in thought to notice her surroundings. it was hardly the first time yulia found herself at the fabrikator shops, always with one excuse or another - something to fix, a special request for the princess - but rarely did she get to actually speak with the durasts beyond a few short sentences.
by all means, david kostyk wasn't known for his conversational skills. he always seemed to keep to himself even among his peers. yulia's certain he never spoke more than a dozen words to her. but he's staring, naturally confused by her presence, and yulia stammers as she tries to come up with an explanation.
"i, ahh -- the princess," she blurts out, hiding behind eva's title as she always does. it's selfish and a little cowardly, but yulia has no royal standing, no power over the grisha troops. she can't tell him the real reason for her eyeing the shops so curiously. she just wanted to learn more about herself, her power. "she would like to get this altered." yulia pulls out a golden necklace from her pocket, the one the princess had gifted her just that morning.
"could you make it shorter?" she asks, handing it to david. "or perhaps extend the chain so the clasp can be adjusted?" yulia suggests, trying to understand the inner workings of his craft. he may not be alkemi like her, but they were both materialnik. not long ago, grisha powers weren't as segregated as they were now - surely she could find some common ground, a hint to help her improve her summoning.

@wiildroses : [ CAUGHT ]: sender finds receiver somewhere they aren't supposed to be. ( from vegas )
THE RABBIT UNLOCKED HIS CAGE WITH A ZIPPER and wound up boxed yet again. Broader, the room he finds, but it is just as much an entrapment as the rest. The walls look like him - in that no matter the variety of chips and adornments, they are dry cement and brick. He belongs in their ranks in some way. His exhaustion has about it the same quality as the paint.
In some other mystical universe, perhaps Haru could have wriggled his way out. Maybe some counterpart of him now sleeps instead of bearing the venomous brunt of another man's childhood. But in this universe, the tangible world, VEGAS FINDS HIM. Haru turns, ever-so-slowly, and meets him with eyes that never shine. Peers into the echo of Vegas' battered self and resounds, in his twisted reckoning of what is to come, a bland little SIGH. As though this were a minor inconvenience back at the grocery store - sorry, no change, do you have credit? no? sigh. ( Kuso. )
He does not move, otherwise. The rabbit is just as strange a presence as its assailant - though never, ever as strong. He has been unsatisfactory all this time and he knows it well - unable, even, to produce the effect of a competent victim. But what does an attempt such as this bring? Possibly more scars. In some way, it's all the same. He is tired.
you have no idea what i'd do to keep you safe. ( jay @ bianca ) / @wiildroses
she remains quiet for a moment - a rare occurrence for the detective, for whom rambling was second nature. it seemed to happen more and more around jay these days, with his knack for surprising her, for saying exactly what she needed to hear... and sometimes what she didn't want to hear, too.
"i have a rough idea," bianca counters, but there's no bite to her tone. for once, this isn't a verbal match; she doesn't feel the need to stand her ground and come out on top. if anything, she wished jay would prove her wrong, that he didn't think so little of his own safety to risk it for her sake.
"you're too reckless," she states matter-of-factly, the way in which she reaches for his hand tentative and awkward. she's not good with this part, the affection, the comforting. but when jay puts himself on the line for her, doesn't she owe him this at least? "it's a terrible--" she trails off, choked up on something she doesn't have a name for, her hold on his hand tightening. "a terrible trait to have in a sidekick." he's long since moved past the honorary title, but it feels safe to cling to it now, to distance herself from how easily he could break her heart.
"i wish you were more careful with yourself," she confesses in a lower tone, not daring to meet his gaze.
