Chris tapped his half eaten burger, Alex still couldn't believe his mother and him ate like that but where not fat. "Sleeping arrangements." He said after much thought. "We are not having the sex till you say so, but what form are you wishing me to sleep in?" He asked.
"I am asking cuz some times we revert to our natural form as we sleep, you have Arthren, which is me but a bit bigger and hairyer, Crinos.... Which your bed would struggle to support, Bjornen, which is a big bear and finally Ursus, which is just a grizzly bear."
Alex blinks again, he was literally willing to shift to make her comfy. "Ur... Let's try Arthren or Ursus? I can deal with that."
Chris laughs and sips his soda. "Good Choice, I am not so big in either form, but very snuggly and hairy."
Alex laughed. "Before she changed, Jess would sleep on my bed, shedding fur, so I'm used to that." She finally took a bite from her own burger, enjoying the taste of grease, meat, cheese, mustard and tomato ketchup. "Oh, Otis will want to check you out, he's our wolf/dog, but he is pretty chill, but sad Jess is now human so they don't play like they used to."
"Ah, proud beast?" Chris asked.
Alex shrugged. "He seems content with a dog's life."
Chris took another bite out of his mega burger and sighed. "Burger King has the right idea, make bigger burgers wider, not taller, I want to hold this as I eat, not use knife and fork, but alas, such is mine burgery fate."
She laughed. "Yeah, watching you try to eat that like a normal burger would be a mess, with splash zone, I don't feel like taking a shower after every meal with you."
Chris laughed back. "You should see my mother when she is hungry, she will strip a rotesry chicken to the bone in seconds, and some times eat the bones."
Alex tilted her head. "I thought it was bad to eat cooked bones."
Chris slapped his stomach. "Have you not seen a wild bear? We eat almost everything, our gut is strong... And mother is normal in one of our bear forms when she eats bones."
"She has never broken that Garou law about humans?"
Chris looked appalled. "Spirits no, bears extremely rarely sup on man flesh, like.... One in one million, we rather eat what we hunt or scavenge, have you not seen the videos of black bears eating from dumpsters?"
"Sorry." Alex apologised. "Just... She is so big, it's all to easy imaging her taking a bite out of some one....."
"Ay, she is of the big, but she is also caring, she cares deeply for those she loves.... Regardless of the elders opinions." He said bitterly.
"A problem with authority?" She asked.
"Gurahl are meant to get elders permission before mating, stars must be consulted, the position of the moon, the way the wind blows... My mother did not heed them, walking her own path, the Elders do not approve of Nick, cuz his hands are stained with blood, but mother loves him, so she will probably mate with him."
Alex poked her tongue out. "To much info."
Chris shrugged. "Shifters are more casual about such things."
"Tell me about it, Caroline and Tina are the worst, almost banging as I try to watch TV..." She sighs. "So... There are more.... Gurahl around these parts?"
Chris gave a pained look. "I already said to much, most of my kind are secretive, keeping to the forests."
"Ah, so big bear is out there, watching." She says.
He nodded. "The probably would not approve of you and me dating, but I am a free man, I can date who or what I want."
"Very open minded... Sadly I am not a bear, but kinfolk to wolves, the Black Furies."
Chris nodded. "A very.... Interesting bloodline."
"And what does that mean?"
"They are very pro women's rights... Violently so in some cases, but they also shelter mules of any gender, they mainly send their male children to live with others rather than rais them them selves... That is all I know... Oh and they are Greek in origin."
Alex leant back in her seat. "That is the most I have heard about them ever since learning I was kinfolk."
He smiles. "We Gurahl have studied the lupine, the Garou, we know many things about many tribes.... Like how lucky you are Caroline and Jess do not take after their father, that house would be a blood bath if they did... But from what the spirits say, your eldest sister is closer to a Glass Walker than a Red Talon what with her use of technology."
"Are Gurahl anti tech?" She asked.
"How can we be? Every year the Weavers presents spreads, even my mud hut elders have smart phones and web access. To blind yourself to technology is to blind yourself to a potential threat."
"The Weaver is possibly a little bit insane, this reflects in her minions like the spider shifters, they are obsessed with weaving their webs, even if it benefits no one in the end."
"Wait, there are spider shifters?"
"We know little about them, other than they turn into swarms of spiders when taking their animal form."
Alex pulled a face. "I am so not sleeping well tonight."
"I can come over and comfort you?" He offered.
Alex thought for a moment. "All right big ted, but if I see one spider, you are dealing with it."
