I think people forget that Stratt amnesticized Grace with the goal that Ilyukina and Yao would be there to help him, y’know NOT DIE, and then THEY DIED before he woke up.

So like she gets the recordings and realizes Yao and Ilyukina are dead before he wakes up so he’s got no pilot, no engineer, and no memories.

And then you also have to remember that the EXISTENCE of these recordings and the fact they were accompanied by the Taumoeba means that an amnesticized Grace somehow managed to save earth without a pilot or engineer and shoddy memory that only vaguely gives him enough to work with as he works.

Like what the fuck man.

Chubs I feel like Rocky and Grace would pass by a mural of Grace and Rocky (Eridian body ofc) with a cat and a dog and Rocky would be like "why are there animals???" And Grace would explain the stories of Laika and Felicette and be like "so, yeah, I think that imagery is really adorable, and sweet, it's litera--- OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY"

I wanted to make an actual mini comic of this (with slight alterations) bc the idea is AMAZING but it's now almost 5am and I lost steam to do more than the mural art that was originally JUST FOR THE BACKGROUND so-

Can’t stop thinking about a phm au where Yao and iIyukhina survive, obviously I think grace would still be the closest to Rocky, he’s the scientist, and a teacher.

Thinking about how when they go their separate ways, and they experience the taumeba leak, and they have to decide whether or not to go back for Rocky

Theres a gun on the ship, but who gets to it first? Yao/Ilyukhina? who wants to go home, pointing the gun at Grace who leans his head against the barrel and tells them to shoot, because that’s exactly what they’re doing to Rocky and the entirety of Erid

Or grace, full of fear as he holds a gun he doesn’t know how to use, begging that the others turn around, that they’ve already sacrificed themselves for earth, why not erid?
