I made flower tea yesterday for the first time! I used dandelions, violets and lilacs. The water turned green!

Currently making squirrel tacos by means of a super redneck sous vide. It smells delicious but idk how to feel about eating it now that I've boiled it in a ziploc bag (that subsequently melted to my tin foil pot lid)

Chicken of the woods (Laetiporus sulphureus) and Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus)

I had one of my most successful mushroom hunts to date today! In just a couple of hours I found four species of edible mushroom to gather, including these two - some surprising late chicken of the woods, very young and at the best stage for foraging, and some oyster mushrooms that had miraculously survived drying out in the recent heatwave, unlike all the others.

I decided to add them to some portobello and button mushrooms and make a mixed mushroom pie with asparagus, spinach, thyme, oregano, and white wine. It’s delicious!
